View Full Version : wheelchair Fantasmic/parade viewing
2dawgs3pups 07-18-2005, 12:04 PM Sorry, I know this has been covered before, and I've read the information on the D-I-G.
But, I was hoping to hear some personal accounts from some DL veterans...how early do you have to stake out your seat for Fantasmic?
We have 2 little boys in wheelchairs, and I've gotten some advice about where to sit (like right in front of the rope, etc.) from the TAG on this site. But, I want to make sure we plan accordingly to get there for the appropriate time. We're planning on seeing it on a Thursday night.
Thanks in advance for the advice!

So for those who have posted in previous threads DON'T have to repeat themselves, my suggestion is to view this most recent thread. http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthread.php?t=44544&highlight=fantasmic

Yup this is a good thread, and Phoenix really does explain a good place to view Fantasmic without the Balcony nor the Riverside seating. Have fun.

Aww, you're gonna make me blush. :p
phoenixfire2k5 07-18-2005, 04:25 PM I actually had to reread the original by 2dawgs to notice something. You have two kids in wheelchairs. The wheelchair viewing area for Fantasmic is over near the entrance to the Haunted Mansion. There might be some people camping out early for this area, but I'm not completely sure on what time or how early. But remember this. Around 5 or 6pm, the Fantasmic crew in their "bumblebee" colored clothing start bringing out the ropes in the Fantasmic area. For the area around Haunted, they may not start putting ropes up in this area until about 7 or 8. But in order to not cause backed up traffic, let alone getting caught in it, I strongly advise getting to this area early. One good way to reach this area and avoid the crowds is to take the train which does allow wheelchair access on and off at the Frontierland station. But you will need to board at either Tomorrowland or Fantasyland/Toontown stations because Main Street does not have wheelchair access. (And they should) But if you want other areas to view, I advise to read the link that I posted earlier. Have fun either way.
2dawgs3pups 07-18-2005, 07:06 PM I want to thank everyone who posts on this board. My wife and I have two sons in wheelchairs, and I know we're better prepared for our DLR trip because of all of you.
I've read some suggestions to avoid the Fantasmic/parade disabled viewing areas because of bad views.
Does anyone have suggestions in general about wheelchair viewing? How early do we need to be to stake out our spot? Are there any other "good" viewing areas? Suggestions on how to deal with people who may want to step in front of my kids in their chairs?
Thanks in advance!

Thats funny, I could've sworn I responded to the same thread of yours. For Fantasmic, the wheelchair viewing area is near the entrance to Haunted Mansion. As stated earlier, go early to avoid traffic, about 7pm for the first showing. For the parade and the fireworks, the wheelchair area is outside the photo shop on the edge of Main Street closest to the plaza hub. Get there about between 1 and 2 for the first parade, and about 5 for the second showing.
