I'm planning a trip to DL the first week of April with a day trip to MM.

I'm wondering what the crowds/lines are like at Magic Mountain. I guess that "X" will be a long wait but what about the other coasters?

Any comments or information is appreciated.

Thanks

I haven't been in quite a while. When I did go, the lines for the coasters were very long.

Also, if they are on their winter schedule when you go, meaning limited days open during the week, that could account for the lines being long.

Okay, make sure that the place is open when you go. I am not kidding.

My sister told me she wanted to go. I told her, let me check on the internet when it is open. Nah, she was mad at me for something and didn't let me help her.

At least two times, she drove all the way up there from here in San Diego. Only to find the gates closed.

Well, I could only sigh.

On the outside. ;)

According to their calendar, SFMM is open everyday in April so no need to worry about that.

If you are able, go to the park on a weekday and avoid going on Sat at all costs, Sundays, and Fridays.

X is extremely popular, and always has the longest line in the park during my weekend visits.

Personally, I would do the loop. Which is to start by going left, head towards X first thing in the morning. Then Viper, which is right next to X. Then, head towards Deja Vu. Deja Vu is one of the 2nd slowest moving lines in the park. Skip Psyclone, it never has a line. Head down the midway to Riddler's Revenge, which is typically slow loading. Then over to Batman, which moves quick. Then over to Goliath, which also has quick line.

At least that way, you hit the major coasters while the lines are not too bad. Superman, Collosuss, Goldrusher, Psyclone, Revolution, I would treat as second priority coasters.

IF you choose to do water rides, keep in mind that Roaring Rapids can literally soak you! Nothing better than walking around SFMM soaking wet.

For lunch/dinner, I would leave the park and go to the Wendy's and/or Red Lobster which you pass on the way up to the park. The price for food is fairly high in the park which would be okay if it was exceptional quality, but it's not.

I've been looking for just that info.

Were going on a Tuesday or Wednesday and plan on arriving early and staying late.

We'll try the "loop".

Thanks again.

well hello there this is of course my first time posting something on here. I have been to six flags alot of times in my life and in april is when their is alot of people trying to have some fun. But of course "x" will have the biggest lines. I heard that they are as long as a 2 1/2 hour wait at some points. My suggestions get their early and get to your best rides on your list first then work your way on those bigger lines later. also go on popular rides at dinner time.

I just went to MM Saturday and was first in line for when the gates opened. I ran up to X and by the time I got off the ride the wait was 4 hours!!! So your best bet is to get there about an hour and a half before the park opens so that you woun't have to wait that long. It is worth the wait the first time you ride it but after that I would only wait 2 hours. LOL! The only thing "I" would change on the loop is after hitting X, go straight to Deja Vu. I got really lucky when I went. After X we went to Deja Vu and it was not working but we noticed that it was testing. We waited about ten minutes then they let us in to go on the ride. We waited a total of 5 minutes to go on. Anyways, If you want to, drop me a E-Mail if you would like to meet up there. Depending on the time you come, I might be able to get you in for $15.00!! Or if I don't use them I have some free passes that I got with my season pass.

My teenage kids tell me that the best thing about X is that it sucks up a lot of the "extremites" in the park which means that the lines for the other "extreme" coasters are correspondingly shorter.

So hit "X" early and then enjoy the fact that so many others will be held up there for half the day while you go on the other coasters ............

Weekdays in the Spring when the park is open always much preferred at SFMM - weekends in the winter can be awful since they are the only days the park is open

Well I just checked my book of discounts I got with my season pass and I would not be able to get you in for $15.00 but I could get you in for 50% off. I believe a ticket there is $42.99 so I could get you in for $21.50 if you would like. Plus if you have any kids, I can get them in for free. Just let me know if that sounds good to you and I'll see if I can work something out.

the line for deja vu is slower than dried rubber cement dripping down a horizontal table.

I would also suggest going to Deja Vu next if your going to ride it...Viper's line tends to move pretty fast...do X and Deja Vu and then go back for Viper and Revolution later.

Why does Riddler's Revenge move so slow???
