A member of my family that will be traveling to the Disneyland Resort with us this month is in a wheelchair. This is not a question about wheelchair accessibility, however, I was wondering if there is a special line on each ride for those in wheelchairs and if so, how many people in their party are allowed to accompany them through this line. I would expect that it would be the entire party so they wouldn't be split up but I'm not sure because our party is fairly large (maybe 10 or 12 people). Please give any and all help that you can! Thank you so much!

when i was waiting for one ride party of 11 came up with a wheel chair. i personally thought it was a bit excessive, but oh well...they allow it I guess..:)..most if not all of the queues at DCA are wheelchair accessible..:)

 Back in the Dark Ages of 1985, we took my father who was in a wheel chair and one person would push the wheel chair thru the designated route (normally the exit from the ride) to the loading area and wait for the other members of the group to arrive while waiting in line.
:~D I was disgusted on many trips the past few years to see large groups entering at the head of the line with only one handicapped person. I personally think that is abusing the system and prefer the method used in 1985. ;)

While in line for Indy I heard a CM tell a wheelchair guest that the max people admitted to a ride is 6 per wheelchair.

THANKS. That is a reasonable amount...even though I liked the 1985 policy better.
(BTW, I LOVED your comment about Club Gitmo :) )

The CastMembers at City Hall will tell you it is up to 6 members of your party...including the person in the wheelchair.

If the attraction castmembers don't follow that rule (which we have all seen often times, that they do not)...then...well...it's their faux pas.

Well this actually issort of a quesion of accessibility, but you didn't realize it :)

If the ride's line is wheelchair accessible, there's no separate line! Your entire family would wait in line together with the familiy member who is using the chair. Two examples of lines like this would be Indiana Jones at DL or Soarin' Over California at DCA.

If the ride's line is not accessible, that's when the separate line for up to six people would become an issue. You could have the person in the wheelchair and up to 6 people wait together in that line while they watched for the rest of your group to get to the front of the standby line.

I've done this before with large groups and it will really be up to you to keep an eye on the line and see when your family gets to the front of the line and let the Cast Members know so that you can all ride together. This would work well on a ride like Pirates.

On some rides, such as Space Mountain, it wouldn't be possible to all ride together.

I hope that helps!
