I thought maybe this was talked about in a previous thread and found one from 2003. So I wanted to just ask again, in case policy has changed.

We are going to WDW and staying at the Grand Floridian in August. I am wondering if when boarding/riding the monorail if I have to collapse my stroller or not. This will help me decide if I am bringing a double or 2 umbrellas.

I know at Disneyland I have to collapse my strollers, so we usually walk down DTD to avoid that. But when I did the thread search for WDW I see a few people (in 2003) saying they have rolled their stroller right on without collapsing it. So I am curious how it is nowadays.

OH, and also 1 more question....when taking the bus to MGM from the monorail station do they have somewhere to store the stroller on board? I have never taken children to WDW so I was not sure. Is it easier to rent a stroller when I get to MGM then to deal with getting the stroller there from my hotel?

Good question but I have no answer. I would say it probably depends on the situation. The monorail at WDW is more like a REAL transportation system than a ride compared to DL. I recall having more space in it and it was set up to let riders out and then allow new passengers in kinda like many of the subway systems I've been on.

You do not have to collapse the stroller on the WDW monorail, although if it is really busy you might have to wait a bit longer until you can get in a car that has room.

They do require you to collapse strollers on the buses and you basically have to hold them at the seat or in the aisle. There is no special storage for strollers.

I've never been asked to take my son out of the stroller to board the Monorail. However, if you are using a double-stroller, I don't think it will fit! The space is tight even for a single, regular stroller. Let us know how things work out for future info. Hope you have a great trip!
