The past couple days when I go to a section of the forums, I will read one or two posts and then come back to it later, mainly because of time etc..

However, everytime I come back it shows that the forum has been marked read.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting that I have on that I maybe shouldn't?

Help!:) I can't tell what I haven't read or what has new replies. :/

That's a "feature" of the vBulletin software. You're not doing anything wrong and there's no setting you can adjust to fix it. When you are inactive for 20 minutes the software automatically logs you out (although your cookie may be set to automatically log you back in when you resume activity...so it may not look like you logged out). When you log out (on purpose or not) everything gets reset to read.

If you are leaving the browser session open and just coming and going from the computer then you could probably get around this problem by opening your buddy list. You don't even have to have anybody in your buddy list. It will continually update itself keeping your session active and prevent you from being logged out.

There is one risk with this however. You'll look like you're logged in all day long and people will think you're an uberloser with nothing better to do. ;)

HAHAHAHA Thanks Bill, that's exactly what's happening. I have an MP window open all day at work. I have fleeting moments that I can flip back and forth to MP and read new posts. Sometimes I accidently close the window, hence the confusion. I do appreciate the response, I actually understood it. LOL
