Thanks to Mark G. answering my question on another thread, we are planning on taking advantage of one of the children's programs while at WDW in Dec. My son will be 4 by then, but I'm not sure if he will be completely potty trained by then. Is that a problem for these programs? (He wears pull-ups.) Also, which one would you recommend? He will only be there a few hours one evening while we go to a nice dinner. We will also have a rental car, so it doesn't matter where in the "World" the resort we take him to is located. Thanks for any info you can give!

Continuing where I left off, ;) our son was still working on his skills when he spent time at the Sandcastle Club. He was wearing a pull-up, though I think that he used the bathroom at least once while there. I do not believe that they will change a pull-up, though. You'd have to double-check that one. The Sandcastle Club (Beach Club) was nice and well fitted-out. The Neverland Club (Polynesian) has been recently refurbished, and I hear that it's looking great again. As far as Simba's Cubhouse (AKL), Mouseketeer Club (GF), Cub's Den (WL) and Camp Dolphin (Dolphin, obviously), I've heard good things about all of them.

One thing that you might want to take into consideration is where you plan to eat. If you put your son into a program that's near where you're going to eat, it's a shorter trip to pick him up, or to run over if there's an emergency.

If you'd prefer to just get someone to stay in your room with your son, Disney's Kids Programs page (http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/moreMagic/otherRecDetail?id=OtherRecKidsProgramsDetailPage) lists Kids' Night Out as the recommended (read official paying sponsor) child care service.

If you're not sure about which location to leave your son, of whether or not your son would enjoy one of the locations, do what we did. We stopped by the Neverland Club after dinner at the Poly one night to check it out. They gave us a guided tour and explained everything that they do at the Club. Our son got a good idea of what it was like and decided that he wanted to play in one of the clubs one night. (In fact, he's already put us on notice that he wants to go to Pinocchio's Workshop one night during our DLR trip in August. ;) )

I'm already forgetting when in December you're going, but unless it's Christmas week, you should be able to make the reservation (through Disney Dining) while you're down there. (And if the trip is at the very beginning of December, stop by the MegaMouseMeet at the Dolphin on Saturday 12/3 to say "hi"! :D )

Bummer! We arrive around 7pm 12/4, and are staying until around 8am 12/10. I think I just missed you Mark when we were there Oct. 2003 as well!

Thanks once again for the info - I will keep working on the potty thing. My son is used to his center-style daycare with constant activities, so I think her would really enjoy one of the clubs for an evening. Sandcastle Club and Neverland Club are the two front-runners so far, but I'd be curious to hear of experiences at others too. Thanks so much!

I would not recommend Simba's club at AKL. My son and I stopped by there in January to check it out (he was 3 at the time) and they were very rude to us about him looking in. Also, the room was not very large and while they had alot of toys in it, I could see if they had more than a hand full of kids that they would be falling on top of one another.

I have heard great things about Neverland (like they have to enter through a window). Some of them have closed I believe so I would check on which ones closed.

We are going to WDW in Aug (18-21). I am curious if the kid's program will allow a 3 year old kid to join in. I have a son who is 3 year old, he will be litterally a month shy of 4 years old. Fully potty trained too. We are staying at Grand Floridian and I see they have a program for 4-12 years old 4:30pm-12:00am.

Do anyone think they will have a problem taking my son? My 8 year old will go with him and be there also.

Does anyone know approximate pricing for some of these? The Neverland one sounds too cute.

In my research, I have found that they are $10, with a minimum of 2 hrs. dinenr is included, and it is served between 6-8pm. You can call 407-WDW-DINE with questions. I found them very helpful!

One month short of 4 may make a difference, but it depends on the reason for limiting it to 4. It may be staff-to-child ratio or some such, in which case it may be iffy. Best bet is to call the WDW Dine Line (see Heidi's post above) and ask them.
