Ok, I can't be the only one who has felt this way after experiencing the magic of the Magic. So, I started a thread to share thoughts, memories, whines, etc., so we can comiserate together. ;)

Once I disembarked to the real world, it just didn't seem the same anymore.

Since then, I've lost my old fast food cravings, which is a good thing. No food seems up to par with that of the Magic, and I've now adapted to eating smaller portions of higher quality food (hey - I learned something healthy from the cruise - who would have thought of that happening??). But still, I yearn for Sorceror Mickey to come in and magically paint my dining room while I eat. I suppose I could put a string of xmas lights on a dimmer switch and timer while listening to my Fantasmic! exit music on CD, but it still lacks something, ya know? ;)

Other things I've considered (jokingly) to get me through to the next cruise:

Placing a hand sanitizer "kiosk" at my front door and entrance to my kitchen.
Learning to enjoy 3.0 earthquakes, since they remind me of areas of occasional large swells with their gentle rocking motion and slight "creaking" sounds. Instead of running for a doorway, I can just close my eyes and be back on the ship for 10 seconds. It's like a mini-vacation at home! ;)
Calling the LA Times and demanding they place a daily ad for "Drink of the Day".
Having the windows of my home replaced with large round ones.
Installing ceiling speakers throughout my hallways, and playing a nice random eclectic mix of Disney music.
;)

LOL -- i felt the same way, both times. I kept looking for my dining servers to come into the kitchen and for someone to slip a Navigator under my door every night telling me what to do. :)

Hand sanitizer kiosk? What in the world?

Disneyphile, I've got nothing but envy for you. I soooo wish I could swing a cruise. Especially after your fantastic descriptions. We're taking a week at WDW in feb and I feel like it's just not going to be enough. :) :) :)

Hand sanitizer kiosk? What in the world?Just prior to boarding, everyone has to put their hands under an automatic antiseptic hand gel dispenser. And that's not the only time. These dispensers, along with tubs of handiwipes and individually wrapped wipes are all in these little "kiosks" or stations located at the entrance to all restaurants on the ship. You'll also encounter them outside the gangways for when you re-board after visiting a port of call.

They're there to keep germs at a minimum, since disease and illness can spread very quickly on a cruise ship. DCL is a little extra-cautious. ;)

Our first cruise was on DCL Magic to the Bahamas. It took me a week to get rid of my sea legs. Since then we've been hooked on cruising and our 2nd cruise was on the Norwegian Sky along the West Coast. The food was soooo much better than DCL too (sorry to say but so true). Our next trip on DCL won't be until the kids are a little older and they can actually appreciate and enjoy it. But since we had a taste of cruising we just can't get enough and have recommended it to everyone.
