Has anyone stayed at the Knotts hotel, the one that is on property? How far of a walk is it to the theme park, closer than DLH to DL? Is it nice? I have heard some people say that the Knotts area is not very safe, is this true or just over-anxious types saying this? They have some really cheap packages and was just wondering if they are cheap for a reason or a good deal. Also, is there any websites that you know of for discounts, etc. for Knotts. Thanks.

I also want to stay close to knotts and shuttle to disneyland. I think its cheaper then takign a taxi 20.00 one way each time. we like knotts, I think the motel looks pretty nice.

I really really like this hotel. It isn't fancy but it is very comfortable.

The rooms are basic, or should I say, the rooms I've stayed in are simple- two double beds, a table with two chairs, t.v., nice changing area.

Yep, you can walk to the park. You are on site, totally. You will walk through the parking lot of the hotel, underneath Gold Rush {this is cool} past their employment office and then you hit a little strip of stores {including the Mrs. Knott's Chicken to go as well as the restaurant, delish} and voila! you are there. Really, just a few minute walk, pretty safe to me, BUT I did not want to let my kids walk it alone. We had cell phones but they didn't call me and walked back anyways. Grr. But they were alright.

Nearby, the Embassy Suites is very nice but I would take the shuttle and not walk. Otherwise, I'd stay by Disneyland and drive over to Knott's.

Have fun! I love their packages and I want to book one this summer, too!

A friend of mine is considering this hotel, because they have “Snoopy” rooms. Oh I love Snoopy! They want to stay there and then meet us at DL. I think I might be jealous, I love Snoopy that much! I didn’t even know about this hotel when we made our reservations, though.

On the website (knottshotel.com) it said they offered a free shuttle to disneyland.

We usually stay on property at DL and go in the fall and spring, but we thought we might try something different in the spring because it was so cheap and my husband and 4 year old have never been to Knotts.

I've not stayed at the Knotts Hotel, but I have parked over close by it, so I have done the walk. I would say it is the same distance as the Disneyland Hotel to the Disney Main Gate. Keep in mind the you pass by the Farm Bakery, the Candy Shop, and Chicken-to-go, on your way, so there are things to see as you head to the Knotts entry gate.

I would say it is safe, as long as you stay on the property. I don't like the area along West St (the back back back parking lot exit).

The opposite area (towards the front of Knotts) ....along Beach Blvd. and La Palma---where the Claim Jumper, Po' Folks, and Stuart Anderson's is......seems a lot safer in the evening. And, I've seen a lot of people walking along that stretch of Beach Blvd. to get to those restaurants. (Wish Downtown Disney had some of those popular chain restaurants).

By the way. There is a bus that goes from Disneyland to Beach/La Palma (about a block away from Knotts.

I think it's the #460. It starts at the Harbor Blvd. Transit Area near Disney.

A friend of mine that worked the hotel when Radisson first aquired it took me to check out the Snoopy rooms. They were absolutely adorable. The hotel is not what I'd consider 4 stars but it is conveniently located within walking distance to the park entrance.

I like this hotel and stay there frequently. Anytime I go to Knotts I like to stay there because I can walk to the chicken restaurant and theme park, as they are right outside the back door. It also has a good golf pro shop with a golf instructor on-site and a pretty good restaurant. However, avoid this hotel like the plague during haunt. The floor I was on (and others from what I heard) were having wild parties and the noise was unbearable. Finally the hotel manager personally threatened a bunch of the rooms that he was calling the authorities if the noise didn't stop. It is the best hotel to stay at for going to Knotts anytime of the year except haunt.
