CARLSBAD, Calif. – The unveiling of LEGOLAND® California’s newest
attraction, Knights’ Tournament, was just the beginning of a summer filled with spectacular fireworks, knights, damsels and fun medieval atmosphere throughout the family theme park.
From June 11-26, 2005, LEGOLAND California will host the second annual Knights & Damsels Mini-Renaissance Faire. Back by popular demand, guests can watch as The Village Blacksmith, Michael Olson, melts and molds metal into spectacular tools, machines and medieval souvenirs, while storyteller Christy Horne weaves magical tales of traditional blacksmithing. The Faire also provides young squires the opportunity to brave the Knights’ Quest by completing four challenges inside the Park, with the reward of being knighted by the mighty king. Those who complete the quest also receive a special commemorative LEGO® brick.
During the event, families can listen to the sounds of World Championship Bag
Piper, Bruce Cotter, enjoy interactive variety entertainment by Lord Rusty of
Rusty Happenings or participate in May Pole dancing, arts and crafts, basket
weaving and other games of skill and daring. This Faire would not be complete
without hearty medieval cuisine including succulent one-and-a-half pound turkey legs smoked and grilled to perfection, hearty-herbed pork links served on a warm bun.
These medieval delicacies were so popular at last year’s Mini-Renaissance Faire, LEGOLAND California will feature a Knights’ Feast All-You-Care-to-Eat Buffet from July 1-August 20, 2005. Guests can feast their eyes and their tummies on slow roasted meats, roasted potatoes, fresh salads and delicious desserts. Young knights and damsels have a menu of their own including hot dogs, chicken tenders and more. The feast is available from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and is only $15.95 for adults and $6.95 for children ages 3-12.
Rounding out this medieval madness is the summer fireworks spectacular “A Spark in the Knight.” Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from July 1-August 31, 2005, LEGOLAND California will light up the sky with a dazzling fireworks display orchestrated to an original musical soundtrack that will tell a classic tale of chivalry. This summer, adults and children alike can truly play like royalty at LEGOLAND California.
