OK -- you all inspired me. I'm nowhere near running a marathon, but I figured I should start somewhere. I have a inital consultation with a pilates instructor next month at a day spa near my house -- after which I'll probably join the beginner mat class. I'm really looking forward to it -- now I just have to buy some exercise pants... :)

I'll post here after and let you know how it went...

Oh, that would be cool, too -- you have to swing on ropes, walk planks and hop around on one leg with a parrot on your shoulder --- with cannon balls instead of big exercise balls.

If you were younger, you could go to Pirate Camp. (http://www.piratescamp.com/piratescamp.html) Yarrr!

I'm really looking forward to it -- now I just have to buy some exercise pants... :)I got some really comfy yoga pants from LLBean. They're having a Summer Sale right now, with capri-style yoga pants on sale. www.llbean.com :) Pilates is a great workout. You really feel it the next couple days.

I started last Saturday at a day spa/pilates studio (http://www.breatheexhale.com) ... I've signed up for 10 private sessions -- which I can convert into Mat classes when my instructor feels I'm ready. They said I'll feel the inside effects right away -- outside might take a little bit, but I felt totally energized when I finished. I already feel it -- I sneezed today and boy did my abs hurt. My instructor was awesome -- it helps that I took several years of gymnastics -- so I have a lot of flexibility.
I bought three really cute outfits (capris with T-shirts), and after my next session I'm getting a facial with a hand/foot massage. :)
