Kuzcotopia 02-01-2002, 07:30 PM Last week it was just sitting in the tunnel, overgrown with weeds and spider webs. It looked haunted, and the station was all filled with leaves. I noticed it was still listed in the guidebook. As bad as Disneyland gets, it never gets down to this level of patheticness. They would at least close the area off. I found the gate open as if the station was open for business. I wandered in to find this deathtrap. The train was parked in the tunnel, cobwebs and all. Looks like it hasn't moved in a year or two. It would be interesting to see if I could have started it up. I hung out awhile just to see if any security would show up. Nope. No cameras, either. I guess this is where the employees "spark a doob" before running some safety checks on Superman. I wonder when the ambulance chasers will learn that AOL/Time/Warner has deeper pockets than Disney? Not that I'm particularly bright either. I still rode X. Somehow I feel safer on the newer rides at Magic Mountain. -Kuzcotopia Ace 02-01-2002, 07:41 PM gaaaah... man. that sucks. Premier Parks bought the chain a few years back, then changed their name from Premier Parks to Six Flags Inc. Ace 02-28-2002, 06:39 PM I saw it, it's totally empty. Sometimes (frequently) I see 10(!) people at Viper. They need 4. If they took the extra 6, they could run the monorail again. Or the people off of Flashback.... seriously horizons1 03-04-2002, 05:31 PM I believe the excuse they used last year was the cost of electricity. Shutting down the Metro and the Sky Tower allow them to save both manpower and electrical power for the resource-hungry rides like Superman. I went to SFMM 3 times last year (all on free tix thank God) and was seriously bummed each time not to be able to ride Metro. My friends and I used to ride it around and around during crowded hot summer days. |
