hi
i wanted to know how was the breakfast in the concierge lounge? is it a quiet place? can we take food from it to the room?
would it be a good idea to also get nesquick ready to drink bottles for one sick young one that may not be able to attend the breakfast in the lounge?
what are the snacks you can get from that place all day long?fruit? cookies or just soft drinks and water?
Thanks alot
David

Hi!
We did this a *little* bit when we stayed at the GCH one or two times at breakfast. The atmosphere was so relaxing and the view so beautiful that we almost always stayed in the lounge.

For snack type foods, water, pop, etc. we took those with us without problem.

Not sure what the exact policy is, but I'm sure if you contacted PPH's concierge desk, they could tell you more details.

As for the food offerings~at breakfast, there were bagels, toast, pastries, wonderfully fresh fruit plates, cereals, milk, juices, coffee, tea...Snacks throughout the day included bags of chips/pretzels, portable fruit (apples, bananas, oranges...), and the fridge always had bottled water and pop. In the evening~they had a fruit, cheese, and wine reception. Fruit, cheese plates, crackers, breads, crudites and dips, little pb&j sandwiches, and wine. Again, water and pop was in the fridge. From about 8:00pm to 10:00pm, they had cookies and milk. At 8:00ish, in the GCH anyway, they told 'bedtime' stories.

I liked the GCH concierge so much when my husband and I went that I'm staying there again on a family trip in Dec.

Have a wonderful time! Come back and let us know the details of PPH's concierge. I don't know that I've read any threads on their offerings.

thanks alot! my daughter is going with my brother and his wife and 12 year old. And since she will be on heavy treatments then, we're trying to organize so she won't get tired too much too fast...
She is so excited about the trip since I booked for them a dinner at Medieval Times, they will have such a blast!

Yes - I've been the the Concierge at PPH and GCH. The breakfast is standard - pastries, begals, cereals, fruit. They have milk, , juices, coffee, tea. We liked it because we didn't want anything heavy and it was just enough to keep us until lunch. My son, was 7 at the time, did well with the cereal, fruit and juice.

We would pack up the beverages to go. Sodas and water in our room, plus we would stop to take some to the park. They are small bottles.

Evening, we went during the wine/beer time. It was nice to get a glass of wine, munch on fruit and cheese and just relax. I've also packed up the wine and food and taken them back to our room. They also had cookies and sweets, and all the other beverages.

As for the extra price - that's up to you. We enjoyed the convenience of it and considering how lazy we can be at times - it's perfect. There's a nice size refrig. in the rooms, so you can take food/drink to your room to store for later, if needed.

The room is smaller than GCH, but the fare is pretty close to the same. GCH has some different items - scones, chocolate dipped cookies and strawberries.

I hope you enjoy your trip and the service. We enjoy the PPH hotel and everything it has to offer.

we already booked for the concierge level with a view on a high floor for panoramic view. on the 2nd morning they will have a character breakfast with Lilo and Stitch.
Once again, my daughter doesn't have a huge appetite but she needs to take a dozen of medicines so...
the lady said we would have a very newly renovated room because of my daughter's asthma... can you tell me how are the rooms? or do you have pictures?
Thanks alot
David

Excellent - we've been on the higher level floors. I don't have any pictures, but Disney's website has them, as well as here at MP (I just don't know where).

I enjoyed the rooms. 2 Queens + sofa sleeper. We've done the Lilo & Stitch breakfast and my son totally loved it. In fact, we've been there a few times. Not as crowded as the other breakfast and more interaction with the characters. Also, they have hypoallergic pillows and blankets in each room (zipped bag).

You're family will have a great time. The hotel is very accomodating. Another suggestion is to contact Vacation Planning. They are currently helping me arrange our trip in July with my parents who have special eating requirements and physcial issues. Their e-mail address is vacationplanning@disneyonline.com. Request they contact the hotel manager and make note of every specific need you require. They are absolutely great about giving you everything you need. VP can also arrange for tickets to the shows (Snow White and Aladdin) for your family as well as dining reservations.

Good luck and hope you have a great time.

"David",

Please be patient. You may have forgotten, having been in France for a few months, that this weekend is Memorial Day in the States and many people are on vacations and not near their computers.

I'm sure that people will answer as best as they can. And your daughter does still have time before her trip. At least a month, no?

David, your plans are good. You've made sure your daughter and the family will be as comfortable as possible.

People who are not in good health visit Disneyland all the time. There are lots of ways to make the visit more comfortable - concierge level is one of them.

Best wishes to your daughter for a fun trip. After the trip, will you post a report of how things went?

In the meantime, we have so many experts on this discussion board. Any questions you have, there will be an answer!

Adrienne, sorry I forgot about Memorial Day... but the replies I got there already are just great and helped us alot!
Marox3, we already contacted the vacation planning and the problem is that wheelchair accessible rooms are city view rooms and not resort view, but my brother will take great care of her in the bathroom and all. The lady at the booking said that the room will be spacious enough for getting a wheelchair anyway and made a special note about getting us a renovated room on the high floors.
How is the Lilo and Stitch breakfast like?
Is the monorail easy to access with a wheelchair?
Thanks for all the replies and tips
David

Moderator's note: The discussion is mostly about access. This thread has been moved to the Theme-Park Access Guide where it will surely find excellent answers.
