I was wondering if someone could tell me what rental car agencies are available at the Long beach airport. I've got a group of 12 or so people from work going to Disneyland and we're trying to decide if we should rent a big van for the three days we're there, or just take a limo back and forth.
Thanks!
I went to orbitz.com just to nose around. Long Beach Airport has Enterprise, Alamo, Fox, National, Budget, Avis, and Hertz.

Are you planning on leaving the resort? If not, I would recommend a limo. It will be cheaper and less hassle. We rented from Stylus Limo in December and from LB airport to the DLH it was only $65 for 6 of us.

I'm pushing for the limo, but there's one person who wants to get a van. This trip started out as three people, but it was his idea to turn this into a sort of work vacation - he's also the boss. We work in a rather...unique place at a school district and we'll be going over a 3-day holiday.
We're looking at bringing 12 people. Does anyone know about availability of a 15-passenger van? We'll all be staying at the same hotel, and I couldn't find any 15-passenger vans through the rental agencies.

How abour two 7-passenger vans?

The two 7-passenger vans are a possibility, but I was hoping to get one 15-passenger just because I figured it'd be cheaper.

I fly in and out of Long Beach quite often. It's a very small airport (the kind of airport where they wheel the stairs to up the plane on the tarmac). The Car Rental place pretty much amounts to a modular unit adjacent to the terminal, which is shared by all the rental companies. A Large (12+) size van might be difficult. Off the top of my head, of course I wasn't really looking, I don't recall seeing any such animal on premise. You're really going to have to call on this one.
If you're staying at the resort and don't plan on any side excursions you really won't need a car. We just spent 3 days at DL on property and the car sat in the lot the entire time.

I'm born, raised, and have lived in Long Beach my whole life.
My favorite is Enterprise at Willow and Lakewood. They are located right at the foot of the tall, round, 60's looking Holiday Inn. They are on the east side (south on Lakewood Blvd. to Willow, from the airport entrance).
I've rented once or twice from the companies in the actual airport itself, and they have been decent, but I would recommend the Enterprise mentioned above. They normally have vans available as well.
Another tip: Don't get gas at the gas station kitty-corner to the Enterprise (across from Spires), or actually anywhere near the airport. The prices are sky-high.
Are you staying in a hotel around the area, or just passing through? Long Beach is truly a one of a kind place. Not quite L.A. and not quite O.C.. Somewhere in between. Enjoy!

At the moment we're trying to decide between the Castle Inn (I stayed there last year and I thought it was alright), and the Anaheim International Inn Travelodge (has a continental breakfast and the overall cost is only $5 more per person over the Castle). The plan AFAIK is that we're pretty much going to be just at DL teh whole time. Like I said, I'm pushing for a limo. I think a rental car would be overboard.

We took our trip from May 14-17 and we flew into Long Beach. It was my husband and myself plus another family of four. I rented from Alamo a seven passenger mini van and had a confirmed reservation (called the night before we left to confirm the mini van would be there for us). When we arrived in Long Beach and went to the counter we were told they were out of minivans and all they had for us was a cadilac that would seat six. I was not happy. We had no choice but to take the cadilac. The trunk barely fit all of our luggage and we were packed in that car like sardines. We only used the car to go to the hotel (Sheraton Anaheim) and back to the airport. We would have been much better off to use a limo service and I bet it would have been less money. My advice is that if you have a group of 6 or more people and you are flying into Long Beach, take the limo. I know we will next time.

I'll be pushing for the limo. If I can just be annoying enough...
