What do you think is the best age to experience Disneyland?

I never went until I was in my mid-thirties. My kids got to go when they were 5 and 7, and have been back pretty well every year. The best to me seems to be about age 7. Old enough to recognize and enjoy all the rides, yet young enough to truly believe in the magic.

My son has gone to DL at 9 months, 18 months, 4 years, 5 years, 7 years, and at 8 years of age......so far the very best experience was at age 4*. There really wasn't a "bad" experience but if I had to choose the "worse age" it would be 18 months(but even then it was still great).

*This was also the only trip in which it was just my Son, my Wife, and I.....all other trips have been with a variety of relatives so that may be coloring my opinion a little.

I'd say four or five. I've witnessed four people in my family go at that age, and they all loved it. My infant cousin went too, and she also loved it. But I'd imagine that to be unusual.

I would say 8 or over. I only say this because I was taken to DL for my 6th birthday and I hardly remember any of it!

My daughter has been at least 8 times now and she is just barely 3 years old. She talks about all the rides as if it was yesterday that we went. But I am sure it helps when mom is a Disney NUT also. I would have to say all them of have been wonderful because each experience was just a little different. I am sure that the age would depend on your own child and they adapt to new surroundings and crowds. But you will never know if you dont try it....

Max has been three times so far. 8 months, 1st Birthday, and 3rd Birthday. The last visit was the best... it was amazing to see him enjoy a place I love so much and to see that he is a little disney freak just like his mommy. His face would just light up and he'd get so excited and shriek about all of his little discoveries. He talks about Disneyland all the time!!!

My 3 1/2 yo is an AP holder. Both my kids, but my 3yo especially love Disneyland. My 3yo talks about it a lot. In fact it helps me to get him to eat. I tell him if he doesn't eat his vegetables he won't be tall enough to go on Mulholland Madness, his next ride he wants to go on, our last visit he went on Big Thunder for the first time. But I think it helps that I am a Disney nut. They have been both 3 or 4 times.

I would say 3 and over. But don't wait too long! At 3 our son could name all the attractions he ws tall enough for. Including ST, BTM, SM. We go about once a month. He counts the days, and plans out our visits. (very cute) GREAT Disney memories!!!

Well i took My neice and Nephew both in Nov. My nephew(9) liked it ok, but he ket getting in trouble for wondering. However my nice (6) loved it, she still talks about it all the time and tells people thye should go. As for myself i was about 4 the first time i went and i remeber it very well, and cryining when mickey tried to talk to me. My cousion went at the same time as me and was 5 and she dont remeber it at all. i guess it depends on the kid.

Every age is a different experience. When your kids are, say 3, they are old enough to recognize the characters and have a great time. They probably won't remember it, but they'll have a blast.

That being said, I think 5 is a perfect age. Old enough to go on almost everything, and old enough to remember the trip later.

Walt Disney wanted Disneyland to be a place where you could go at any and every age, become a kid again and have a wonderful, magical experience! So everyage should be the perfect age!

My theory: any age that you have the money to take them - go! ;)

We took ours when then were very young, (1,3 1/2,4 1/2) the first time. The 1 year old was hard as he wasn't walking yet, we drove down from WA state and so he spent way too many hours either in a car seat, stroller, or being held. They love to crawl all over the place at that age and crawling isn't always possible on a trip. The other two, their ages were magical on that trip. They thought every thing was real. They were so in love with the characters.

We were not able to take them again until they were 10,13, & 14. Those ages were tons of fun also, we laughed when they realized they hadn't been on a REAL submarine ;) That trip they were able to go and do some of the rides on their own (the three of them together and this was 1989) There is something to be said for not having to push a stroller also.:) They still had a total blast, loved the characters and totally into the magic. I did luck out and get 3 DL nuts for children - even as teenagers they rode all the rides, nothing was considered too "baby" for them.

We now all go and take the grandkids, from the ages of 2 months to 7 years so far, and find the 18ish months stage to be the hardest. Little babies seem easy because they sleep and play in the stroller easily. 2 -3 up to 7 yr old they are excited about the rides and characters. At 1 - 2 years they don't sleep as much as they did and they want to be out of the stroller but they can't really walk at any kind of a pace and they didn't get the "next ride" concept. Note: figure on going slow and letting them enjoy at their pace. :)

So in conclusion of a long old post . . . I can not imagine a age that wouldn't be wonderful and fun to go to DL. (just be flexible ;) )

I was 45 when I went the first time ( last year), I took my daughter and 3 year old son, it was so maddning. Rachal loved it but coming from a small town we did not know how to handle the crowds and my 3 year old cried non stop. way to much stimulation. I went by my self in March the best time I have ever had, so the question is at what age ((46 ))) And going alone with out kids :) ( ok maybe bringing kids is ok LOL! but I really enjoyed it with adult friends who met me there :)
