I am going in sept. and all I know is that the haunted mansion will be down during the week I am there, but what else will be down?

Disneyland.com has one. I don't know if they have the schedule up for September yet, though.

EDIT: Just checked, and it doesn't look like the schedule is up yet. Sorry :(

the two sites i refer to most are:

http://www.riderefurbs.com
http://www.visionsfantastic.com/refurbishments.html

also, you can always call 714-781-7290 and ask.

it is a bit too early to get everything that may happen in september though.

Does anyone know how trustworthy these are? On one it has POTC on refurb Oct-Nov and the other doesn't. I will be truly bummed if we miss that one when we are there Oct 12-16. Thanks.

I'd like to point out that we list refurb schedules in our weekly Disneyland Park Update (http://www.mouseplanet.com/parkupdates/dlr) as well.

The schedules you see in various places are reasonably reliable (if they're frequently updated) but the farther in the future you list, the less accurate they are. Some down times are unscheduled or on very short notice (such as the recent Goofy's Bounce House closure) while others are known about way in advance such as the closures of Haunted Mansion to put on and remove the NBC overlay.

And then other times things just happen. Mark Twain went into drydock and came back out pretty much on schedule but then they had an ad hoc schedule of further dock time to do additional work.

The start time for projects tends to be more reliable than the end time. Many projects take a little extra than originally planned or finish a bit earlier.

Except for really big projects, it probably doesn't make a lot of sense to try and plan a vacation around a specific refurbishment

I have made peace with the fact that POC will be down when we are there during Oct 3rd thru Oct 8th. When it gets super close if I find out it won't be down then I will be excited. This way I won't be sad to find out it's down.

It looks as though we are in the same boat, so to speak. I actually arrive on the afternoon of the 2nd of October and, if my flight is not late, I will hopefully be able to have a quick ride on my favorite attraction. I will, however, keep my fingers crossed for both of us that Pirates will actually be open when were are there.

You booked your flight already? Man, you're organized. I'll make sure I'm in early, too. You know how crabby I get if I don't get to ride Pirates at least once.

Remember that time when we nearly plowed a couple of kids over in order to be the first Pirates riders of the day? Hee hee.

Well, it's a really good ride and those kids were more like surly teenagers and shouldn't have been in our way. And it was pretty funny....

I do think it's just a little bit rude that your trip counter is shorter than mine. It's a good thing your sister loves you!
