I didn't notice if there is an exercise tips thread, but I thought I would start one.
A friend of mine who's in the military told me this tip.
Get into the postion you would normally would for doing push ups. Instead of placing your palms flat on the floor you are going to be resting your weight on the forearms. Balance your weight between your forearms and your toes. Hold this position for at least a minute and you'll feel the burn in your stomach area.

That's the 'Plank', a common Pilates position. You can also be in that same position, and lift one leg off of the floor, and you'll REALLY feel it in your lower abs! It's a hard one, but it's worth it.
Another one: If you're too busy to get to the gym, try to incorporate more activity in your day in other ways. I.e., Park far away from the office, store, etc, take the stairs to your third floor office instead of taking the elevator, take a walk around the floor at 3:00 instead of reaching for the bowl of candy. Something is better than nothing, and consistency is the key!

Park far away from the office, store, etc...This is one of the "exercises" that I do from time to time. Instead of dealing with the stress of fighting for a parking spot I am more than willing to park out in the boonies and get some exercise by walking to the store.

I have a stretch band at my desk at work. I use it to work out at my desk. It mostly works out my arms and back. If I could figure out how to stand on it I could work out my abs and butt....however it's to short for that. I use this 3 to 4 times a day. Then I do my real workout when I get home...:)

And then dip!!! From this position dip your hips down on one side and then the other. It works your obliques.

I do that but not for the exercise. I like to park away from other cars so I don't get an scratches. I can get a little protective of my car :| .

I do that to. I park where there are no other cars, but when I come out of the store all these cars are parked around mine.....

I know. That is why I always have to get an end spot too. And never park near the shopping cart return area. So many things I have to think of when parking.

When I go to work I leave my car at home.

Just a quick idea to keep you motivated. Take a belly pic once a week to see your progress. ;)

If you do this same basic move with your lower abs balanced on a stability ball (hands on the ground in front) you will also strenghthen your core.
