Okay, I'm back and running again....
Where dd I leave off? Oh yeah....we left the Cove Bar and went over to the Grizzly. It was after 6 and getting kind of cold at this point. I was really dreading going on it even though I love it. Of course I got one of the seats that 's closer to the opening where you get on the ride. I know from experience that the people who sit there usually get the wettest. But at least I've learned to sit with my back firmly against the seat so the water won't go down the back of my pants. It was no use. Our raft spun like crazy and we got drenched! My pants were still wet the next morning!!
Darkbeer and Deogge'smom had to leave after the ride as they had to work early the next day so our group was down to Karla, Mukta, Crazy Train, my dd and me. (Kmatsamura had left earlier because she was feeling so sick and I think she also had to work the next day. I hope she is feeling better.)
So three of us went to Ariel's and got seated while Mukta and Karla went to get sweaters and .....................a corndog!!! (LOL) Karla was determined to eat one before the trip ended. Again, I am so grateful to these gals for being such good sports and going to Ariel's for dinner because I don't think any of us were really that hungry as we had been eating all afternoon. Our waitress ddn't even know she had one more table and she was about to go home so it's a good thing we asked if we had a waitress! We're glad she stayed too as she was very nice. A few characters came by and we took pictures with them. We also had 3 people celebrating birthdays recently so the staff came and sang to us. I really enjoyed this dinner immensely because we had some really great in depth conversations about our lives. I just love these ladies. We also had a great time thinking of all the funny things we could make up to tell you about Karla. I was going to tell you what we came up with earlier, but I just couldn't do it because this trip was not about being wild and crazy and teasing each other ; it was about having good clean fun with and building up one another. My dd and I keep saying to each other how much we really enjoyed everyone's company.
We finished our dinner just in time to see the Electrical Parade from start to finish. It was great as always. Then we went to ride Screamin'. Karla was really nervous but we assured her that she would be fine. Once again, we heard all her funny hollers and hoots and she said "Let's go again!" (LOL) We had 4 more fast passes since DB and DM had left and Mukta and Crazy Train did not want to ride. So I joined them on the Boardwalk taking pictures while Karla and my dd went two more times. Each time , my dd did some kind of funny pose. I don't know where she gets that from!! ;)
We had time to squeeze in one more ride, so Karla chose the Maliboomer. We got on right away and she even convinced Crazy Train to go , but then Karla started saying how scared she was and I started to get psyched out. Right as I waved my hand to say "let us off" the ride started and up we went. It was very very smooth and not scary at all. I love being up high and I love the view of the parks at night. We came back down and guess what Karla said? Yep, you got it, "Let's go again!" But it was time to go. We were especially proud of Crazy Train for goimng on the Maliboomer and we are going to get her on Screamin' next time!!!
Mukta wanted to make sure that Karla saw Fantasmic for her last night at DL.
We left DCA and headed to DL as fast as we could. Karla had this really funny look on her face and I just had this feeling that she'd had that corndog and then a few too many rides. But she was a trooper and came along with us.
My dd and I watched the first 5 minutes of Fantasmic which we love, but we also wanted to go on Splash Mountain "really quick" since we both love that ride at night. We hurried over there and got on right away , but then....the ride broke down! They got it started once, but then it broke down again! We were four logs behind the one that was starting up the final hill before the drop. They stopped the music and turned on the lights and then we sat there and waited and waited and waited. I just knew that Mukta and Crazy Train were wondering where we were but there was nothing we could do. I had no cell phone signal and a CM even tried to make the call for me , but he couldn't get a signal either. They finally evacuated us all and then we had to walk on the concrete that's inside the mountain all the way around to a door that lets you out right where they sell the pictures. It was weird to see where we were in relation to the Disneyland Hotel. Everything iiside DL really hides what's outside DL very well.
We hurried back to where we'd left the gals and they were still waiting...I was sooo glad because we would have been sooo sad if we couldn't have said goodbye in person to them. Plus we were able to do a few more fun things together that I've never done before on Main St. We went in the Candy Palace and pressed pennies for Karla, watched old time movies, played some of the games , and put in a quarter to play The Nightmare before Christmas on the organ. That thing is really cool , especially how it makes all the lights in the store blink in rhythm to the music.
We headed back to the trams after that where we said goodbye. I just have to say one more time how much fun we had with those gals. Mukta (yes that's her real name) was such a gracious hostess and went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a good time. And Crazy Train (her real name is Lori Beth ) was so sweet! My dd and I will both really miss them till our next trip, whenever that is....they are awesome!
My dd and I staggered back to the DLH , went up to our room and fell into our beds. She fell asleep right away and I thought I would , especially since the bed was nice and comfy and I was so tired, but I was really wound up from having had so much fun that day. My sister was awake too so she told me all about their day. I think I only got about two or three hours of sleep total.
Little did I know that Karla was still out there somwhere till past midnight trying to find her way back to the Paradise Pier Hotel and "decorating" the bushes.
