View Full Version : It's Not Your D-I-G
AliKzam 01-07-2002, 09:48 PM Dear Authors,
While I enjoy reading each and every one of your wonderful columns, I would like to request that you please stop writing articles under the "Disneyland Info Guide" unless you are Al. It's nothing personal, but I really look forward to Al's updates. When the MousePlanet page pops up and I see "Disneyland Info Guide" in one of the windows, I get all happy. Then I see that the article is not by Al (once again, nothing personal), and then I get bummed. And then I don't read the article. Maybe I'm the only one, I don't know. It just bugs me, and I really appreciate being able to express my concerns on this forum.
Thank you,
AliKzam
Just because an article runs under the DIG name does not mean that Al wrote it. We categorize columns by topic, not by author. I'm sorry this causes confusion, but that is how we have structured our content.
FYI, Al is one of the primary publishers of the MousePlanet (though not the only one). Generally, if an article runs under the DIG header, it is because Al chose to group it there.

PEZaddict 01-09-2002, 11:49 AM A few months ago, these articles wouldn't have been filed under "Disneyland Information Guide." Now, you have a right to organize your website anyway you'd like, but the fact is that to me, it looks an awful lot like filler.
I'm coming to MousePlanet less and less these days. I have a lot less reason to come what with there being only one new article a day (instead of three), and few of the articles are interesting to me.
So, what gives? This made sense during the holidays, you guys certainly deserve a break. But the holidays are over now. Are you having money issues? Has it become too much work? No matter what the answer, MP is becoming a bit of a snoozefest.
mousecat 01-10-2002, 08:53 AM Got to agree with the above poster. This website is becoming the DCA of Disney websites...lots of potential but much of it unrealized. The big e-ticket (Al) seems to have taken another job. Rehashing old articles as new is common to both. This used to be a daily fix but has become a weekly one at that. I hope you guys are okay.
Sam
merlinjones 01-15-2002, 11:39 AM Where is Al? I'm glad we get David too, but I really need some hot DIG gossip! I'm having withdrawals. No letters, no scoldings, nothing. Did Al get another job?
AdamFrank 01-15-2002, 10:57 PM The front page of MousePlanet states that Al returns tomorrow. Should be interesting...
Largent81 01-15-2002, 11:08 PM I think you guys are being a little harsh considering you don't have to pay a few to read Mouseplanet. I've often thought how if it were me, there would be no way I'd give the time and effort as those at mouseplanet as often as they do. I could handle it once a month or so, but not every week and certainly not everyday. If they want some time off, fine. All the better when they come back. If they want to change the layout, great. It's still the same great stuff if you ask me.
AliKzam 01-20-2002, 02:45 PM My only request is that the only articles under "Disneyland Information Guide" are articles written by Al. I don't think that's harsh at all. I totally understand that he needs a vacation, and that the site is becoming more intricate every day. I just have that one request. I'm very happy he enjoyed his vacation, and the latest (and very informative) "D-I-G" was in fact written by Al. Welcome back, Al!
Kevin Yee 01-21-2002, 12:48 AM Tony's right - we organize by topic, not by author. The D-I-G may have started as a personal page for Al, but it is now folded into the fabric of MousePlanet and is no longer just his personal space, so sometimes articles from others run under the DIG that are not written by him.
AliKzam 01-21-2002, 08:02 PM Well, this is one loyal reader who won't be reading them.
stinkerbell 01-29-2002, 04:19 PM I'm not reading DIG that much anymore either.....could be cause I discovered the Lounge and can be found there in the little free time I get each day........;) I say, keep up the good fight Mouse Planeteers! You guys are all awesome. Just keep me updated on my beloved Disneyland--good and the bad--and I'm a loyal reader, no matter who the author.....:)
club33az 02-04-2002, 03:57 PM I have to agree with stinkerbell. I used to read this page everyday. Now, it's more like once a week. I'm getting most of my info/pics/gossip from Laughingplace.com and disneygeek.com.
There was an interesting post on this thread, calling MP the DCA of websites.
It'll be VERY interesting to see what the critics of DCA do to clean up their own shop. My own opinion of course. And I'm not being nasty. Just observant.
Lacrosse Boy 02-12-2002, 05:13 AM Think about it . . . what does DIG stand for?
Disneyland
Information
Guide
Maybe it is because it is Disneyland Information. Why would it fall under something else?
