Tips for Enjoying the Park
The 2005 season is now underway! Boomerang Bay - Drop Zone Stunt Tower - Nickelodeon Celebration Parade - Psycho Mouse Family Coaster - so much to do you may not know where to begin! Here are some friendly reminders to help you make the most of your park experience.
Best Time To Visit: Plan to visit the park when attendance is lightest. Best bets: weekdays during the summer and any day during the months of March, June and October.
What to Bring Along: Wear comfortable, broken-in shoes. Wear clothing that's light and dries quickly on water rides such as Whitewater Falls and Logger's Run. Instead of bringing a purse or backpack, wear a small "fanny pack" to carry your wallet and essentials. Also, don't forget a towel for Boomerang Bay.
Getting Around the Park: Guests can now rent Star Watch, a waterproof, watch-size device that is worn on the wrist of each group member. Once registered, park guests may scan the Star Watch at any of the park's seven Star Watch "LocationStations®," where group members can quickly locate one another on an electronic park map or arrange a meeting place should your party get separated. Carousel Columbia near the main entrance, and DROP ZONE Stunt Tower™, the park's highest landmark, are good choices.
Bringing younger kids to the park: Upon entering the park, point out a uniformed security officer that your child can easily spot if he or she should become lost. If your children do get lost, go to Lost Parents, located in KidZville, where all unaccompanied children are brought. Need a stroller and can't fit another thing in the car? Paramount's Great America offers daily stroller rentals for a single passenger at $6 per day, and a double passenger stroller at $10 per day. Check out strollers in the morning, as supplies are limited!
2005 VIP Passes On Sale Now!
Paramount's Great America is now selling 2005 Family & Friends VIP Passes at a special price: Buy 3 Individuals Passes, Get 1 Free! (Individual VIP Passes are $84.99 each). Offer ends May 30th! Share the Memories: Fun With My Dad
"When I was a child between the ages of eight and twelve my father would take me and one of my best freinds to the park every summer. It was my favorite place to be. I loved the whole atmosphere of Great America. There was no where like it in the world. We would run around all day playing, riding, and laughing. My dad was so much fun always right in the middle of everything that we were doing and would laugh just as loud as we would at the funny things that would happen. He would ride every ride and run from one ride to the next with us until we had ridden them all and then we would start all over again. At the end of the day we would roll out to the parking lot so tired that I wouldn't always remember walking to the car and sleeping all the way home. My dad would tuck me into bed and kiss my forehead and tell me how he couldn't wait to do it again and I knew in my heart that he meant every word. After our last trip to Great America my father became very ill and died five years later. Our time together when he was ill was spent laying on his bed and talking about our trips to Great America and all of the wonderful adventures that we had together.
I am the mother of two beautiful children now and even though I have not taken them to Great America as of yet, I look forward to the day when we start our own mental scrapbook of memories that will span their life times. Thank you Great America for allowing me to share these memories with you and thank you for being there for me and my dad when we needed a place to create those special moments together.
Kim P. from San Miguel, CA will receive two tickets to Paramount's Great America. Winners are randomly selected. Submit your entry (http://www.parkfeedback.com/news/memories.aspx?utm_source=park-newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Issue-05-03-31&utm_content=standard-edition)!
School of Rock Live in Concert Auditions

Drums, Amps and a Keyboard will be provided. Guitar players should plan to bring their own guitars. Reserve your audition spot today (http://www.pgathrills.com/events/events.cfm?utm_source=park-newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Issue-05-03-31&utm_content=standard-edition)!
New Height Restrictions
A guest's height is an important safety factor on many rides and attractions. Our Staff would be happy to measure your child's height so you know which rides and attractions he or she may enjoy. In addition, Fun & Safety guides are located at the entrance of each attraction for your convenience.
