QuikQuote: Murphy's 30-person strategic planning unit will be dramatically downsized, giving more autonomy to Disney's division chiefs, some of whom have complained of being marginalized and disrespected by Murphy. Critics of his operation, which reviews all major Disney initiatives, have dubbed it "the business prevention department."
"You want to energize bold, thoughtful risk taking in a creative business," said Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, associate dean of the Yale School of Management. "You just can't do that when you're caught up in complex chains of command."
But the structural problems were compounded by Murphy's reputation as Eisner's guided missile, said several current and former Disney executives, who asked not to be named.

I don't know if I should celebrate or be more concerned about the ordeal.

Can't tell you how many times I've heard it called just that. For years now.

Too little, too late for many. Disney lost a lot of great talent that moved on to other companies and have since proved their talents elsewhere, because that Department never even let their ideas or projects get to 1st base.

OK, I now continue to have higher hopes about Iger. We seem to be moving in a positive direction here.

I'm sorry, but according to Disney policy, you only get one wish per silver dollar. Please throw ninety-nine more quarters into the well. Thank you.
