Greetings,
As we ready ourselves for a 14 day cruise from Florida to California thru the Panama Canal :D, my wife wants to know if we can bring our own snokel equipment for Castaway Cay and other places, or must we rent?
See ya real soon! :)

From what I've seen you can bring your own -- as long as you are willing to shlep it ... but that way you know the mask/fins will fit right.
You can absolutely bring your own. But, to be honest, unless there is a compelling reason to, I would still rent them. From my perspective, packing for 14 days is bad enough (I'm already trying to pare my list down). Adding the extra bulk of a snorkel and fins is too much room lost.
I am curious though - we now have two sets of padders on board the ship. Any more?

Hey - my wife even got contacts to go snokling, and since we are three people she figures we'll have enough room. Now, do I take my laptop for those days at sea????

Thanks - is there going to be a mouseplanet get together on the cruise??
We'll have to see about an MP get together. I don't that there a very many of us, but even a small group would be fun.
As for Laptop, I am bringing mine, but that is more so that we can process photos and maybe work on an article or two from the ship. For most people, it isn't worth bringing, since you can't use it in the ship's internet cafe. It is their computers only - no luck with laptops.
If you don't have a webmail account, I do recommend signing up for one before you go (GMail from Google works well). You can access that from their computers no problem. Figure unlimtited access for the 14-night is going to be about $180.

Well, to keep this thread on track - my decided we'll only take our masks and snokels, rent the fins and lifevest at Castaway. I may bring my laptop, but won't use it for any web access.
Thanks -
Walter

I just went in December and the Cay's water on the adult side is (or was) very low. There were still alot of things to see in the water over on that end. Just thought this might help, have a great time.
