I'm going through a rough patch of laziness!!! HELP! I need some incentive or inspiration to help me get my lazy butt off the sofa and back into the gym? Any suggestions?

usually just looking on the mirror or at pictures of me...:) Also, the desire not to be fat anymore. The hardest part for me is eating right at home. I usually just grab whatever is the quickest which equals not always the best choice.

I'm going through a rough patch of laziness!!! HELP! I need some incentive or inspiration to help me get my lazy butt off the sofa and back into the gym? Any suggestions? For me it's a couple of reasons.

If I didn't work out, I would have to be FAR more stricter about what, and how much, I eat. Diet-only is a seriously deprivation-based plan, and it is VERY unsatisfying.

Second is that I want to stay younger longer, and being fit and leading a healthy lifestyle is the best way for your body to fight aging.

Bingo!

When I was younger, it was all about looking good. Now it's all about feeling good.

well....you could do what we do at my office. My brother bought one of those scales that measures your weight and body fat. Then we made up a chart with everyone's name. Every thursday we all "do the deed"...and record our progress.

Obviously this won't work for everyone's environment. I work with my brothers and the other two people in our office have been with us for so long .... it doesn't matter :D It's great motivation cause I know if I slip my brothers will raz me to no end!!!

My motivation to work out is..... I have no motivation and I do not work out. But if I did workout (and in the past this was my motivation) it is the thought to maintain a healthy weight and to look good for the ladies to stare at me all they want. :D

I want to be healthy and have more energy to play with my boys.

Oh, and I want to be the shop "eyecandy". Shallow, I know. But the truth. There are about 30 of us in my department and only 5 of us are "girls". 1 is the boss and another is married to boss #2. So, being boss #3, I want to not only be able to tell all the men what to do, I want to turn their heads as I'm doing it.

I don't know how I missed this forum until now! You guys are great in giving each other support. I think that is key. When I want to get back to excersizing (and after being sick for two weeks, I'm sitting on the couch too). I reward myself with something basic like a pair of socks or underware. Somehow I'm always short on those items that still look good (eek) and it isn't too extravegant and you will use them... So if I excersise 3 times next week, then first weekend in April- I'll pick up a pair of socks at the mall! I once set up with a friend that we'd only get the socks or underware if the other person excersized that week. That was brutal! If I don't excersize my friend has to wear raggity underware. It got me going.

I love the idea of buying something in return of getting in a workout. Maybe I can talk my sister into buying me some itune songs in exchange for working out with me? hmmmm just a thought. That way we get workout music and a workout:p

When I see pictures of other people in good shape it makes me want to work out. For example almost everytime I walk into Abercrombi I am inspired to workout more. Funny how that works.

The reduction of stress is a big one for me, plus it helps me focus and let things "slide" rather than getting upset over little things. I haven't worked out in a few days because i've felt yuckey and blah - but i'm sure if i force a workout tonight, i'll have more energy tomorrow.
