ok, but just as long as we're willing to accept that i didn't choose to be this way. and the shirt colors really dont matter cuz we're all going to die anyway.
I'm cool with that..;)

Please close it, pleeeese!!!! All this stuff is affecting my vacation mode and I seem to be drawn to it like, you know, looking at the sun or something. It's a stupid thing to do but you can't help looking.

kristen don't worry they are not at Disneyland to force their views on you they are just going to have fun like you. It is not like they are all going to throw themselves in the bushes and have sex in front of you.
They are normally people just like you (alot with families of their own) going to the park to have fun.

totally, I know, but thanks :)

I swore that I would never get into a discussion about "gay" at MP again , but there are a few things I just have to say.
The first person to say anything negative at this thread was Toursbabec3po..."Don't worry if someone is wearing a shirt . They will not bite."
The next person to say something negative was TOT fan..."People fear the gays when they are let loose in the park . Protect the children , cover their eyes. Don't come to the park that day . You might catch gay"
Even though you may have made these statements in a light hearted way, to me they come across as "looking for a fight." The judgment is on your part , not others by assuming that people are afraid of gay people or ignorant i.e. worried that they might bite, worried that they might catch gay, etc.
Also, I think the comment bradk made to TJAA about her grammar was totally rude and uncalled for in a discussion about gay mini day.
If the three of you can be more respectful of others, then maybe you will receive the same in return. ;)
And for the record, here's what I believe...
Gay people have every right to be in the park wearing their red shirts which make them recognizeable as a group as Goths, fraternity brothers , sorority sisters, smokers in the smoking section , Christians, bands, choirs, MP geeks, etc. As long as all of these people are behaving appropriately in public, people shouldn't have a problem with any of them!!
Wow! I did not realize I was being disrespectful I was trying to lighten up the subject at that point in the thread. You are entitled to your own opinion as I am mine. I was not rude to that person at all if you notice I put a :-) at the end to show my lightheartedness towards her fear or disconfort of coming into the park on gay day.
I do admit to getting more defensive later in the thread. That just because so many of my friends that I hold close to my heart are gay and I will always stick up for them because I am a true friend. I think the people that have a problem with this day are those who are set in there ways and there is nothing we can say are do to change how they feel. That is why I have made an effort to teach my kids to stay away from any type of discrimination and hate because it just leads to negativity, ignorance, and close mindedness.
Also this is a messageboard with people with all kinds of backgrounds and opinions. My post was very non judgemental. It was in hopes that maybe if just one person who was close minded about others peoples lifestyles could maybe think twice, It would have been worth the ten seconds it took to type it.

isn't every day at the 'happiest place on earth' gay just by definition?
No because that definition changed a long time ago.
But I do have a question. Why do gay's like to show themselves off in public like this? I never understood it. You dont see straight people wearing half blue have pink shirts saying that they married. If your gay I dont care but dont flaunt it in my face when I am at the park lol. Sorry if I offended anyone but that is just my opinion.

Because this is America and they are entitled to do whatever they want. I don't think their public display of red shirts has anything to do with other guest but rather themselves so they can converse with other people with their intrest.
People come into the park with all kids of matching shirts on this is no differant.

I'll be there on the 2nd, wearing my red shirt...it's just fun to get together with other people that I have something in common with, thats how I see it...simple...
The mini gay day is held 6 months from the main one, it's smaller, one day, and just for those in the area that work there, can get sign ins, AP's...etc...the mini gay day should not affect Sunday...
If anyone wants any more info the website is Disneyland Gay Days (http://www.gayday2.com)...

with all due respect, i'd be more concerned about teaching your 5 year old twins better spelling, grammar and an overall deeper respect for the english language.
You said exactly what I was thinking. :D
I had no idea we had such cousinhumpers right here in California. Huh.
