View Full Version : Question about mini Gay Day, 4/2/05

isn't it funny that when a question is asked about what day is gay day in the parks people seem to be on the defensive? It seems to me that it was just a question. why does it mean to argue over who is gay who is not, who thinks being gay is right or wrong? I know some of you know my views on homosexuality, but I do not feel it needs to be argued over.

Because it shouldn't be an issue or a discussion. If were talking about blacks, asians, latinos, etc. People would get so offended, but since its gays. Heck lets just heckle them. They don't matter. Does anyone know when the black people go to the park?

i agree. i am not gay, nor do i have nothing against gay people, i have friends that are gay, like i said in an earlier post, a persons choice is a persons choice and it doesnt make them any more or less of a human being. myself, being a comedian, was just making jokes on the subject, you know, to make people laugh, as in a sense of humor. which i think some people forget about when it comes to some subject matter.

Amen to that Hakuna, my Gosh people, it was just a question. I am sorry, but when I read this original post it seemed to me it was like asking when the cheerleading group (or any GROUP not race) is at DLR and how the crowds would be affected. Gees, why so hostile? The (dare i even say this) Gays (or is this politically incorrect) created this function at Disney, why so offened when a question is uttered regarding this.

(or any GROUP not race) :
They are the same thing as a race, you choose to be a cheerleader, not gay.

seems you are very defensive. why? if your gay be gay, who cares really ? whos bashing? seems to me you are the one bashing here. you are so defensive that you take things wrong and become nasty. Ok, we understand you, we have friends who are gay (I do not but most here do) why do I not have a gay friend, well I do not know any but would not be offended to have one. But dam you are nasty and just over the top. chill bro!! Gay or not like I said who cares, it was a question of when is gay day at the park!!!!!!!!

(sigh)
first off, pascomom is right. it's entirely your opinion that people choose to be cheerleaders.
second, you're clouding the issue by defining gays as being a 'race.' being homosexual is as much a 'race' as being heterosexual is.
in this world, there's only one race where people are concerned and that's the human race. this whole race issue is entirely bs because when it comes to prejudices in this world, it's based on color and what's on the outside.
and if pascomom can pinpoint which day in her life she woke up one morning and decided to be heterosexual, i might be willing to bend on considering thinking being gay as a choice as ignorance.
and why is there a gay day if they aren't the same thing as a motorcycle club? it's really quite simple. because most every other day is straight day. that's how it is when you're an extreme minority.
it's really no different as when women would unite and have rallies and activities to support their right to vote or pass the ERA. it's a way for them to receive recognition in this world and to show they're proud of who they are. and that's the only choice they make when it comes to being gay. they make the choice to be visible and not let ignorance oppress them, despite threats of being shut down because not everyone agrees with them.

LOL! Now you are just way out there. we were not speaking of color, we were speaking of when gay day was. Heckle you, no I have more important things to do. now you are bringing in whole other arguments.

Gooood Question! I am going to contact my family and friends and whoever else wants to join and have and American Indian Day (no proof of bloodline required) at Disney. I know lots of my people who would love to meet at Disney. And we could all get cool shirts too, seriously.

Ditto from another Pascoite!! I am bewildered at the defensiveness of some of the posters. I couldn't figure out if they got something totally different out of someone else's post than I did or if I just totally didn't get it  I think I am not the confused one!

yeah, count me in too. i've chosen to be part cherokee now. i'll bring my headdress and rubber tomahawk (which someone will have to hold as i dance around screaming while i we do that thing with my hand over my mouth). then after i make it rain, we smoke'm peace pipe and maybe go scalp some pale faces.
but i must warn you, if anybody even thinks so much as littering in the park, i will cry.

no, not at all. if people can choose to be gay, i can certainly choose to be cherokee indian, right?
i'm going to embrace this ignorance thing.
in all seriousness, i'm just hoping to let some people see that me being ignorant makes me look as silly to them as their ignorance makes them look to other people. i don't directly mean to offend anyone, but people have already made it clear that they've been offended by certain views posed here and yet people continue to push the issue. so it's time to try to put things into perspective.
it probably won't work though.

i'm going to embrace this ignorance thing. Well, you are certainly a natural at it.
Saying overtly negative things about past portrayals of Native Americans definately puts gays in a better light. Congratulations.
