Ugh, and I was wondering why Chip and Dale kept trying to take my nuts!
Oh I don't think they would do that. Chip and Dale are a very committed couple. They're only interested in each other's nuts.

Well norm you better never take you kids to Disneyland again because about 90% of the guys that work their are gay.
And for god's sake! Don't ever watch the parade again or any entertainment in the park your kids may notice the guys are gay in them! LOL
toursbabe

Where did you get the idea I or my kids are anti-gay?

My kids are old enough to make up there own minds and I really don't care either way. And the last parade we watched was when MSEP was in the DL side when they were small. I find all the others boring.

People fear the gays when they are let loose in the park. Protect the children, cover there eyes. Don't travel to the park that day, you might catch gay!!!

Some people may laugh at this, but, some people DO feel this way! It's rediculous and closed-minded. I'd go on any day, I don't care who is celebrating at DL!

We can't change peoples views all we can do is support those we love in the choices they make.

Actually, I've never heard of this mini day, but we've been to a couple Gay Days around 10/1st. It's my DS' birthday weekend and the opening of the HM/Nightmare overlay. Yes, the group wears red t-shirts. We didn't have any problems, there were just a few instances we needed to explain to our son. But, overall it was fine. The one time we did have problems was with the Cheerleader competitions held over the weekend we were at the park.

isn't every day at the 'happiest place on earth' gay just by definition?
lol, actually, your right, but by the 1920s standards, not by today's, that's a good one though, again i say lol

yeah, im not sure if id go, but that's to protect the homosexuals from me...not me from them, i have NO problem with who they are and I respect their decision completely, but from what i believe i simply don't support acting on a homosexual urge, but that in no way means they're bad people! I'm not perfect either. You know, i'd love to go, cause yeah, what's the difference, it's just a specific group of people coming on a certain day (and i totally agree with that person about short lines, yeah baby!) I'm just afraid that i would hurt someone's feelings by making shocked or upset faces if something happens that i dont like, and it's their day to have fun, not my day to ruin it for them! So, i think after i work on acceptance and forgiveness a little more i can be prepared to go on one of those days...i just have a problem supporting it. Anyone have any feelings about this (agree or disagree, suggestions on an approach to looking at it)? I'd love to hear them, and please don't attack me, i'd love to have a conversation about it. Plainly, i feel a christian love for the people, just not for acting on their urge--oh, and if it helps in creating a conversation, i have at least four or five homosexual friends that i don't treat any differently (and why should i?They're people just like me, just with a different weakness) Ok, i'll stop telling you all my life sotry, i would just love to hear some opinions and reasoning! Have a blessed day y'all, can't wait to hear from ya!!

..um, what are you talking about? I don't think the comment was meant to be rude in any way. I think it was meant to be open and understanding.

How do you know that is what she meant? I took it to say, if we have people in our lives that are closed minded, then we can't convince them otherwise and all we can do is support them.

Interesting.

what are you talking about? the person was just saying that everyone, whether you agree with them or not, should not be close minded and try to change someone if they don't want to be changed, and to just give them love like everyone else!! I find that a wonderful statement...i think you just misread the quote, cause it's hard to know exactly what someone means unless you hear the modulation in their voice sometimes, just please try to think about what they really meant...:)

I think the key word in MammaSilva's statement is "views". I took it to say that you can change people's views (on how they accept/treat gay people) so we just have to accept that we can't change their views and love them (the people whose views we can't change) anyway.

Are we all confused now?

kristen don't worry they are not at Disneyland to force their views on you they are just going to have fun like you. It is not like they are all going to throw themselves in the bushes and have sex in front of you.

They are normally people just like you (alot with families of their own) going to the park to have fun.

I'm not sure exactly where you see I want to change anything about the people I love who have openly accepted the fact that they are gay. I am saying here that I can't change anyone elses opinion about the choice to accept the person they are.

For many years the Gay community had to hide , hence the term come out of the closet. I'm dear friends with several men who happen to be gay....I adore them and support the choice they made to accept themselves for who they are. Did they choose to be GAY, that's a big debate, my personal opinion is no they didn't CHOOSE to a lifestyle that has them treated like second class citizens. Did they choose to be strong and say this is who I am in spite of the obstacles they face, yes they did and I'll support that choice with my every being. Can I change the views of ignorant people who think that being gay is contagious, nope I can't but since I have some of those in my life, I have to love them too and accept that they are entitled to their opinion just as I am to mine.

What?? she didn't say she was worried about gay people in DL (or anywhere) - she was trying to explain what she got out of mamasilvia's post. I know there are people who think gay people aren't normal - but I don't think anyone in this thread was saying that at all - imho
