QuikQuote: Speigel pointed to issues such as Miramax and Pixar on the film side and the ongoing effort to boost ratings at the ABC television network, from whose ranks Iger emerged, as being higher priorities than micro-managing a successful theme park division. That's not to say that theme parks aren't a key piece of the Disney puzzle, however.
“The parks are such an important part of the operating income to the company, but it has not been an area that (Iger) has been focused on,” said Ray Braun, senior vp at Economics Research Associates in Los Angeles. “I can't imagine there would be a sea change.”

I do view that as a positive for Iger as CEO. He is part of the current regime.

When there is a regime change, inevitably the new management wants to put their mark on things. They may have friends to place. It doesnt happen overnight, usually 6 mos to a year later the changes will happen.

I view folks like Oimet quite safe with Iger coming in. And based on his performance, I couldn't be happier!

If Iger can ink a deal with Pixar that Eisner couldn't, but still makes generous profits, I'll convert. I.e., it doesn't have to be the killer deal that Eisner required, but if DIS has to give up rights to future character tie-ins, so be it.
