I know nothing is immune to criticism but here I go anyway. This is part serious and part silly...
I think this smilie: :p should be edited to look actually like it's someone sticking out their tongue. It kind of looks like a droopy open mouthed smile to me. Here look at it again: :p
Okay, that's it.

If you go to the Darwin Awards Philosophy Fourm they have a huge selection of faces to choose from, and some are animated, but I don't know if you can get them to work on here.

I've said before that to me, it looks like a laughing face, and I tend to use it as such. If the tongue were longer and less spherical, or red, maybe then it would look better.

I used that smilie once to represent someone who was suffering from allergies. See? :p Eyes squinty, looks like it's sneezing.
It's actually pretty versatile. (But I've never used it to stick my tongue out. I prefer the smarmy grin one for that type of thing: :D )

I remember a couple months ago when I found out the true meaning I felt so bad because that is the one I used most. I was glad to find out I wasn't the only one because I was afraid my comments had been taken sarcastically. Such as:
Oh! What a good idea! Disney should try that! :p
See what I mean? Of course you, otherwise this thread wouldn't be here right? RIGHT!

I always thought that it was someone laughing.
