Hi Everyone!
I'm a single mom currently planning our first WDW trip and was wondering if they have family bathrooms there? It will just be myself and my 9 year old son, and am extremely hesitant to let him go to public restrooms alone. Is this something I should even be concerned about?
Thanks for any input!

There are family restrooms at Disney World. I really wouldn't worry about a nine year old going to the restroom by himself at Disney World. I can't think of any restroom where there's more than one way out of. So you can "stand guard" there while he's inside if you can't find a convenient family room.

There are family restrooms in most restroom locations, however I would not be concerned about a 9 year old going in by himself. He certainly is old enough to handle it on his own.

At WDW there is only one doorway into the bathrooms. I let my 5yr old go while I guard our stuff outside and I have never had a problem. Besides, just remember I don't believe Disney has ever lost a child and they have one heck of a Lost Child System in the parks. It is the one place that while I'm still protective I can be more loose than anywhere else.

Thanks for all the responses. I admit I am a bit overprotective... I'm not so much worried about someone snatching him or him coming out and not seeing me so that he wanders, but what could go on in there. I live in the Northern VA area and there have been issues with boys being molested in the men's room---once at a public library near where my sister lives in MD---to the point where (at least according to the same sister) it's now illegal in MD to let a child under 12 go into a public restroom alone. I know WDW is a safe place, but there's weirdos everywhere.
Thanks again
Christine
