I just made my reservations for our summer trip for the first week in August and am anticipating Space being open by then. I have a 4 year old who is 43.5 in. tall atm and was trying to find out if that is tall enough for Space. I can't find anything online saying what the height requirement used to be, so I thought I'd ask here.

Anyone know? TIA!

44 inches in WDW, 40 inches in DL (I think). wear an extra pair of socks just to be safe.

(just kidding about the socks, i personally do not advocate attempting to get around the height requirements)

A quick google search came up with 40"-42" for DLR's, and 44" for WDW's. Either way, I'd say by August, you should be OK. I doubt anything is going to change with the rehab, since ball all accounts, it's the same track, therefore, the same physics.

I found one list that said it was 40" in 2001.

40 inches? WOW, my 3yo is that tall, I would never take him on Space.

well of course it's an issue of safety, not maturity - that's the rider's [parent's] discretion

Thanks for the quick replies! Now I suppose I just hop on the 'pray it opens before November' bandwagon and cross my fingers.

I have the Space attraction poster in my bedroom and DD stares dreamily at it at least twice a week asking, "Daddy? Umm..can we go on Space Mountain this summer? I will sit right next to you so I won't be scared, I promise!" I've been telling her yes, as long as it was open. I realized today I had never checked on the height thing and got worried! Thanks again.

She has been riding Matterhorn since she was 2 and HM and PotC since before that and has always loved them. Heck, last trip she was heartbroken that she was too short for BTMRR. She inherited the thrill seeker gene I guess.

All kids are different, I just got lucky.

Before it was closed for refurb...the height requirement was 40 inches..

I dont know if they will change it after all the changes though..hope not, my 4 year old wants to ride it and she is 41 inches
