In the past, DCL has sent out VHS tapes with info books. For 2005/2006 they have a DVD with a more "hands-on" booklet -- sort of a nod to Passporter -- complete with stickers and places to write in "must-sees."

However, the book barely mentions the West Coast vacations -- and the DVD doesn't mention it at all.

But the DVD IS good regarding the ship. You can look and learn about each deck, and each place on the deck. (i.e. when you click on Vista Spa you get a 360 degree view of it and a narration) and it has a look at each cabin (both the "blueprint" and the actual). It also allows you to click right to areas for kids, teens and adults -- which means no more "fast forwarding." The bonus features includes "The Making of the Magic" and an interacitve "ask the fish" game (very strange).

Niwel,
Thanks for the tip. I just ordered mine to continue my planning for my 2/06 trip.
Question/request for a small spoiler... did they show how the ships looked after their last dry dock renovations or was it "older" stock footage?

Thanks!

Yup -- new stuff, new scenes! That's what makes it so wonderful. :) They still use some of the same people/scenes from the old videos, but they include scenes of The Stack (the teen area), the Cove Bar/Cafe (adult coffee bar by the pool) and Diversions (Sports Bar).

Hmm, I'm going to have to order this. I have never been on a cruise and after talking to some friends who have taken some I decided maybe next year to do the Disney Cruise Line with mom.

Thanks for the post and for reminding me. :)

Just wanted to let everyone know that I just got mine today. :) It has much of the same look and feel of the previous version, but with updated materials.

It was kinda funny... We were trying to see how much has changed since the ships went into dry dock last year.

Very good overall. The booklet that it came in has a lot of info as well. Needless to say, I cant wait for my next trip in Feb.
