I swear a few years ago they gave you like a $100 bonus if you were there the entire summer season - they still doing this?

I had read in another message board a person saying that Legoland was closing. In reading this post, it sounds like Legoland is doing well.

It's not closing anytime soon, is it?

That's just a rumor. During the off season they close the park two out of the seven days of the week. But for the summer it's open all seven days of the week. The management of operations has been transferred from the original company to a third party operations, so there should be any permanent park closures.

Like sdfilmcritic mentioned Legoland is closed currently on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the "offseason" portions of the year. During peak periods such as spring break and memorial day and summer and such the park opens for 7 day operation.

As far as Legoland closing, that IS just a rumor the Lego Company is selling off the theme park division so that they can focus more on the toy business as opposed to the theme park business. As of the last all-staff meeting there have been many offers and the company is currently considering all of them.

They are also thinking about transferring the theme park division to another area of the Lego company, to limit financial burdens. Either way the deal should be final between June-July 2005.

As far as the $100 bonus offer, I am not aware of that, but that could be going on... I do know they do have a referal bonus of $150, for refering someone for employment. * The person must remain an employee through the end of the season for the other employee to receive their refereal bonus.

They are building a 700 room hotel just outside the park - would be kinda pointless if they were closing the park ;)
