I think Im having an IE issue.
I check the boards about once an hour and everytime since this morning I open the boards it shows I have new posts...BUT.....the posts were made by me or I have read them before.
I have marked them as read about 6 times now and there are no new responses to these posts and one of them I was the last poster.
Anyone have any suggestions? I already dumped my Temp files and cookies but it continues to mark them as new as soon as I reopen a window.

How much time is passing between closing the window and opening a new window? Is it a full hour or less than 20 minutes?

hehe Less than 20 minutes....our systems are running slow today *yawns* Takes 2 minutes to open one screen so while I'm waiting I'm reading posts. :)
I didn't want to admit to being to much of a Mouse Pad addict...shame on you Bill for pointing that out! :fez:

hehe Less than 20 minutes...
There's your answer. If you don't manually log out, then you are automatically logged out after 20 minutes of inactivity. If you return before that 20 minute window is up then you remain logged in. If you return in the same window (you didn't close the window) then all read threads remain marked read. But if you close the window and return in a new window then everything is marked unread again.
I don't know exactly why, but that's the way it works. If this is really bugging you then just minimize IE instead of closing it, or log out manually each time you leave, or make sure 20 minutes have passed since your last session. For all the addicts, I recommend just minimizing the window. ;)
If you want to stay logged in though but anticipate you may be inactive for more than 20 minutes, then you can open your buddy list. That refreshes periodically keeping your session from timing out and you can stay logged in even when you're away from your computer.
