How hard is it getting there from CDG to DLP by train and info will help? Hakuna Makarla 02-15-2005, 06:21 PM wow! a long way in such a short time. have a wonderful trip!! So happy for you!! efoxx 02-15-2005, 07:39 PM it's just a quick get away to celebrate our 20th. we are using some of our DVC points to stay at the newport resort. but I can't get off work before June 2, and we need to be back by june 8th, we have tickets to wicked that night. mad4mky 02-16-2005, 09:25 AM Woo-Hoo for the Foxx's!!! :D You will have the BEST time!! Disneyland Paris is sooooo beautiful...just beautiful. :) We went in the month of March...so I don't know how June is...but the park is so big, that I cannot imagine a packed park like how our beloved Disneyland (here in CA) gets. We will want DETAILS when you get back!! :) MammaSilva 02-16-2005, 09:37 AM Congratulations....No information to help with the trip, just some good ol green envy but the good kind knowing that good people are going to go celebrate 20 years of marriage! Have fun and like M4M said we WILL expect a great trip report after you get back (with a review of Wicked while you're at it ;)) Hakuna Makarla 02-16-2005, 09:43 AM ans please, do not forget the pictures some going in and coming out as well as the park its self. If you get a chance how about some about town pics to ( ok so this is the only way I will see paris :) I am so thrilled for you! andcongradulations on your 20th anaversary!!! Vegitabeta 02-16-2005, 01:55 PM CDG isn't very far from DLP if you get a train or a bus. Hope you have a great time! But don't count on good weather :( kadiehl 02-16-2005, 06:47 PM Yeah for you! Congratulations...I have told my hubby that I would like to hit every Disney Resort in time...well at least Disneyland Paris and Disneyland in California... But have a WONDERFUL time!!!! :) stitchvelvet 02-17-2005, 08:33 AM Im no expert in transport from CDG as we usually travel via Eurostar direct but here goes:- option 1 Very expensive taxi (around 50 euros one way) option 2 VEA Disneyland Resort Paris Shuttle Bus. These run every 30-45 minutes and are a direct link from the airport to the train station between the Disneyland Hotel and the Disney Village (ie 2 min walk to the gates of the park). Above the station is the bus stops for all the other disney shuttle buses to other disney hotels and general buses out of marne la vallee. These shuttles run from the airport from about 8.30 in the morning to 10 at night so youll always get a ride. Im not sure how you get the tickets - perhaps someone else will advise - not sure if its prepurchase or buy on the bus. The buses have 4 stops around the airport which should be easy to find (signposted) but if they become full they dont stop for anyone else and you have a longer wait (only ususally happens in busy seasons) option 3 - TGV train. Station is located in Terminal 2 - all signposted. If you arrive in terminal 1 there is a free airport shuttle back to terminal 2. The TGV goes direct to Marne-la-Vallee, Chessy (station right next to gates of park). I believe this is also the fastest (but not the cheapest) way of getting to disney as it takes only around 15 minutes. option 4 - not really sure about the times of this but you can get RER train to paris and change for another RER express back to Marne-la-Vallee or another RER train which will mean changing at a different station and going onto Marne-la-Vallee but all these seem to take at least 90 minutes. Phew! Hope this is of help. stitchvelvet 02-17-2005, 08:52 AM Oh, had another thought. Most english schools are shut end of May/Beg. June for one week and I dont think the French children are out of school as they seem to have most holidays around May time so June should be good. (june 3rd is the last friday of english kids half term so perhaps the weekend may still have some of the little darlings milling around!) Disney is a great place for tiny french students on day trips. They all look sweet when they go around with their teachers and name badges on. Weather wise, well I suppose you could have showers but it shouldnt be cold (in england we call it flamin' June as it can get quite mild and sunny). Perhaps you could check the weather nearer the time. Yahoo Weather has a site where you can check the weather for Marne La Vallee (where DLP is sited) but im not sure if im allowed to post the addy but its pretty obvious. Wfoxx 02-18-2005, 02:06 PM Thanks for all the well wishes. We promise to do a full trip report and lots of pictures as well. I'm trying to learn some French before we leave. Hopefully I'll get a few basic phrases down. StitchVelvet thanks for the info. We definitly need all the info we can get. I bought 3 books on paris one of them by Rick Steves. We are hoping to get at least one day in Paris. We will see what hpppens. |
