Okay, dumb question time...

I haven't been to a non-Disney park since the advent of Fastpass. Is that an exclusive Disney feature, or do other Californian parks (Six Flags, Universal, etc.) use it too?

Also, how long are lines generally at USH? (Never been there. Had lots of 2 hour + waits at Magic Mountain a few years ago.)

they do, but they usually aren't free.

universal sells a front of the line pass for around $90 which I believe includes admission.

six flags has a complicated qbot / fast lane system that has various levels that can either put you in a queue as if you were just standing on line or, for more money, can cut your wait time down by up to 75%.

Universal Orlando has several schemes, one of them works exactly like fastpass and is free to all guests (and also like the "unlimited fastpass" that is free for their on-property hotel guests.) This is in addition to the front-of-all-lines tickets.

Six flags parks use two different systems: a ticket-based system that skips you to the front of the line (well, usually up the exit), and the above-mentioned q-bot system. Neither are free. Depends on the park. some have tickets, some have q-bot, and some don't have either.

Cedar Point uses handstamps that work similar to fastpasses, are free, but much more limited in scope (only 6-8 or so coasters, and only 10% of the ride's capacity.)
