I know some of you are pretty into DDR- now I have a question for you.

My son is turning 9 in a few weeks and we bought him a nice pad, DDR Extreme, and we got him the Jungle Book Rhythm and Groove game.

Can you think of anything that would make this more fun for him in terms of DDR...meaning...should we get that Eye thing that is out there for using your arms and so on or are there other DDR games we should look for?

Thanks for the input.

I am pretty excited we got him this. I figured my son and I could do this together and get good exercise while doing it. I am seriously thinking of getting a second pad when I get my tax refund back.

Getting a second pad would a great idea. My fam and I love challenging each other. The thing is, make sure you get a pad that will work good for you and your floor. You can find some real basic pads on eBay cheap (like 1/2 the price for entry level ones), but they are made from vinyl and may slide on carpet.

As for the Eye Toy? That looks like it can get hard but a lot of fun. Good hand eye coordination learning tool.

Dont some DDR versions allow you to create your own dance moves? If so, give that a try and try to get tricky as you challenge each other to a custom duel.

most of the DDR versions will allow you to edit dances, yes. I personally down own an eyetoy, so I can't speak for its "funness" or whatever you want to call it, I think you should let him just play and experience DDR and see if he even likes it, then perhaps invest in the eyetoy later on in the year (maybe for good grades or something).

A second pad is good, especially if he has siblings. No point in fighting over who gets to play next, and challenging each other is fun.
