This is not a rumor starting thread.

Admin Staff-

I was curious if the smaller home page and the departure of Fab Disney Babe & Jim Hill were signals that this website was going away.

It is my own speculation which prompts my question and nothing more.

I guess I've been conditioned by Disney. If people cut back on things, they eventually "glow away forever."

Disneylad,

Michelle and Jim actually left MousePlanet quite some time ago. MousePlanet, since that time, has added several new columnists (Sue Holland and Mike Scopa, covering WDW, for example) and has developed several new areas of core content (including the Legoland Guide and the WDW Restaurant Resource)!

MousePlanet is adjusting priorities. We need to focus more attention on our trip planning guides (to keep them up to date for our more casual trip planning readers) while at the same time provide great content for all of our regular readers (via our regular columns, trip reports, etc.). We also are moving to put renewed emphasis on the DIG and Al's other columns that provide the behind-the-scenes information on what's going on in the Walt Disney Company.

During the holidays you will see fewer updates. Because MousePlanet is operated by just a handful of folks, we felt that it was important to take some time to spend with our family and friends during this time of year. We'll still have some new stuff over the next two weeks, but at a slower pace than normal.

After the first of the year, you can expect regular updates and new features -- plus more up-to-date trip planning information -- so that everyone that visits MousePlanet, and regardless of their reasons for stopping by, will get the information they're looking for, will learn what they need to learn, and will enjoy themselves while they do it.

MousePlanet is alive and well, and we're working and fully intending to be here for the long haul.

I know you are asking the Admin staff, but your comment about a "smaller home page" made me want to comment. The site seems to have the same information that it always had, it just isn't jammed all onto the front page. If you click on "Site Map" you will see all the old sections. It doesn't appear that there is any less information (except for less frequent new columns and they still seem to have one a day) it's just better organized (IMO).

It was hard to believe until I actually met some of them, but the MP staff are just regular people who run this site--they actually have *gasp* other interests, friends, and family wholly unconnected with MP.

Partly for selfish purposes, I'm glad you're making family and friends a priority--in the long run, Mouseplanet will benefit. I would hate to see y'all burnout just trying to provide entertainment for ungrateful wretches like us ;)

for those of us that would be "lost" if MP went away I strongly urge all of you that can to make sure to clik on the Amazon button and make a donation...what ever you can afford ......I did it like a mag subscription, once a year.. but everyone can do it however it works best for them.....I've been reading since the D.I.G. days when Al did the front work but Kevins hard work on the restraunt guides actually gave me the "ammo" to convince the other members of the management team of the time that we COULD take 20 to 30 people to the park for a visit.....I can't imagine NOT having MP around..in what ever form the powers that be decide to take it :)

I am surprised they don't do guest MP colums from the posters, for a price of couse, that could drum up more money for them. Then they would realize for every opinion they have another person hates it (like the people that hate dca vs dca fans:) )
