I've been doing tae bo since '98, off and on. It helped me get in great shape at one point, then I let myself slide, etc., etc., etc.

Just started up again - back to the beginning workout, in addition to doing some eliptical. I'm hoping I can move on to the full tae bo cardio and advanced workouts by early March. Here's to a rock-hard booty!

A dream would be to go to an actual class conducted by Billy Blanks. Focus, you've got to focus! Visualize. V-v-visualize!

I'd love to hear about your experience with tae bo.

What's the best intro. workout? I wouldn't mind trying it.

When I started to do Taebo like 5 years ago...I lost 50 pounds. I would do the one hour work out once a day and the half hour basic once a day too. If I had time I would throw in the 15 minute work out too. That was when there was only the one set of tapes. Now, I have many Taebo tapes. But after losing that 50 pounds, I got pregnant and gained it back so now I am getting back into the Taebo swing of things. I love it. I am doing that for an hour a day, trying to do 15 minutes of free weights and then trying to do 1/2 hour of step aerobics...it is hard to do with the job I have now and having two kids now but once I get my routine down pact, I should be able to do it. But lets just say, I am back into it just about 5 days now (after being majorly sick for over a week) and I am finding muscles I forgot I had :) Gotta love Taebo ;)

That is so, so inspiring, kadiehl! The one-hour workout is a killer. I think it took me weeks before I could do it smoothly. And to add the 1/2-hour to that, and maybe the short workout ... wow!

You have my respect, that's all I can say.

His studio is right out in the San Fernando Valley in California. The next time you come out to visit Disneyland, we should pencil in a side trip.... :)

Gotta love Taebo ;)So are the names like that "One hour workout?" I am just wondering what current DVDs would be best for beginners. There are a lot of his workouts available, so I'm not sure which one to start with.

It's officially called Basic Workout. I promise you'll feel it in them abs.

THere are many versions out there. I just saw an info-mercial on the new set called "Bootcamp" or something like that.

If you can find them at Walmart, Target, or Kmart...I would start with the original ones which were in blue, red, yellow, and green boxes. All I know is the advanced is a blue box, green is the fifteen minute...

But they are called Basic Workout, Advance Workout, 8-minute (with stretching and all it is about 15 minutes..)...I have some of the Taebo Ripped ones too and they are more advanced than the originals I have described.

Good luck...I need to get myself into it and I just have not been able to this week. :(

Today I'm celebrating Valentine's Day by adding 20 minutes on my elliptical to my daily tae bo workout.

Live strong, all!

I have added Tae Bo to my work out.

I started with the original set on VHS. The Basic Workout, which is about 26 minutes, is what I started with. It is a great workout and a great way to get started with his style. After doing that for a while I put in the 8-minute workout. I love it. The nights I do these two {I do the basic first and then slap on the 8-minute to kick my tushie} I don't dance as I feel they are great cardio-vascular.

Yes, stan4d_steph, you can find them in a set of 3 but can someone tell me if it is really a set of 4?

Thanks to this thread and the Bootcamp infomercial I just saw, I ordered the Billy Blanks Bootcamp DVD set. I am such a sucker for infomercials. ;)

Ordered it from collagevideo.com instead of Blanks' website as his website is run by Goodtimes, which has a horrible reputation for sending/billing out its exercise infomercial video sets.

The set should arrive Thursday or so. Wish me luck! :)

Do the Tae Bo videos require a lot of space? All I have is my little, cluttered living room (15x12, less sofa and entertainment center). And I need to be careful not to step on pets...

I just broke down and bought it as well  :) I warned my husband first since I know he will see the credit card bill and we have not been using our credit cards for anything. I splurged and got the infomercial basic set and then got the Taebo Extreme. I have always wanted a Taebo workout that would involve my step. So wish me luck...I will need it as I get back into this. My husband said I did not really need any new videos but I am hoping new, fun workouts will give me the inspiration I need right not to get back on track...I am getting there....just too slow.

I hade been debating about this but once I got the collagevideo catalog in the mail here at the bookstore, I could not pass it up.

I got my DVD set in the mail on Friday. I did the first 20 minutes of the Boot Camp basics DVD. Owwie. I am soooo out of shape.

Oh well, it's all about putting one foot in front of the other, progress-wise, eh? Monday night, I'll pluck up my courage and see how far I get in the Basics DVD again.... :D

Ok..I did the Basic Bootcamp (all 55 minutes) both Saturday and Sunday. This morning I just did the Ab Bootcamp video...talk about pain...it hurts to laugh, breathed, eat, etc- LOL!

I am finding that these tapes are definitely way more challenging than the basic Taebo tapes that originally came out years ago. The bands really make a huge difference. I struggled with some of the floor exercises but gave it my best shot even though with the last floor exercise I just sort of layed there and thought "me do that you have got to be nuts!" But I really like these workouts and they are giving me the inspiration I need to get back into the swing of things but they sure are tough. I think they are way harder than the regular Taebo advanced tapes. This basic bootcamp work out was HARD!! I am just happy that I was able to actually make it though...but doing DDR with my son directly after was not a good idea, LOL, between the Taebo and our "dance competitions" I fell into bed last night...but slept wonderfully!!!

So tomorrow I am actually going to try the TAEBO EXTREME tape I bought when I bought the bootcamp set. Taebo Extreme uses a step and hand weights in the workout. So I know that will be hard but I will just do the best I can and try to get through it. I know in time I will get use to it and it will all be a piece of cake even though my body does not agree with that thought right now :)

Good luck, Sheila, I know how hard these are....they are definitely a MAJOR workout.

Well I did the Taebo Extreme today and it was not as bad as I thought it would be. The bootcamp series is more difficult with the bands and all. With the extreme you have to use weights and a step. They introduced some new combos which took some practice but the hardest part was some of the weight lifting moments (using dumbbells/hand weights). My shoulder and back muscles need to be strengthened. I know by doing this video it will help those areas tremendously. So I think I will try to the Cardio Bootcamp workout tomorrow unless I am sore...I will just do the Basic Bootcamp video. It will be a couple of weeks before I even attempt the Advanced Bootcamp. I will just work on the Abs, Cardio, Basic, and my Extreme. Then I know I will be able to handle the Advanced one then.
