QuikQuote: Disney management is so distraught over damaging revelations in a book on CEO Michael Eisner that the public relations head offered to resign, The Post has learned.
Sources say Disney obtained several chapters of James B. Stewart's soon-to-be published book "Disney War" last week, and immediately put their lawyers and spinmeisters into overdrive to try to get Stewart to soften the portions most damaging to Eisner and his top deputy, Bob Iger.
"I think the danger for Iger is that [management is] controlling the process and not the board," said one industry source close to Disney.

it says in the Post article the release date is March 1st.

I wonder how damaging this is when some of the folks, like ISS, who supported the SaveDisney effort now say they think the board is doing a good job and supports the board's position during this shareholder meeting.

Maybe this is why it was leaked - get a reaction from inside WDC just before the shareholder meeting. That reaction would tip off folks who watch Disney's activities closely and then report on it.. Better to have WDC to look bad trying to stop something then releasing it without their knowledge and they can just deny the contents..

Actually, the release date is March 7th.....

Here is a related article from the LA Times...

According to several people who have read excerpts, the book paints a largely unflattering portrait of Eisner's nearly 21 years at Disney's helm and raises questions about how Disney President Bob Iger has managed the ABC-TV network. Iger is the leading candidate to replace Eisner, who is retiring.
