it's a tie between Barton Fink and the Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover. Should have walked out of that one--I think we were stunned into immobility. Not a good date movie!!!

I'm surprised Hunchback was your worst movie! The music is beautiful, and the voice characters v. good too. I don't think it was a children's movie, what with the sensual themes and all, but I enjoyed it.

The worst movie I have ever seen is 102 Dalmatians by far. God that was horrible.

Well, the worst one in recent times is Freddy Got Fingered. I can't believe I was the one who talked my friends into that one. For serious films that aren't total jokes, Bounce was pretty horrible, but my all time worst film in my opinion, had to be Looking for Mr. Goodbar. We had to watch it late at night for a college class and every girl in the room after the viewing was afraid to go home. The only good thing about it was Richard Gere's performance, which is hard for me to say since I generally can't stand him in movies, but he was the only good performance in the film.

I have yet to hate a movie so much I actually walk out of the theater (if it starts to stink, my friend and I just sit there and make Mystery-Science-Theater-3000-type commentary to amuse ourselves). So, I'm not really sure...
Though I could tell you what the worst animated movie I ever saw was...an 80's film called "Light Years". Ughhhhh. I don't even think I got 20 minutes into that one.
Even some of the other animated 80s dreck like the Rainbow Brite and Care Bears movies still have sentimental & nostalgia value for me...I worshipped Rainbow Brite! :P

As zapppop said, "so much crap, so little time".
Here are just a few:
Any of the Austin Powers movies
Any Stanley Kubrick movie
Rocky Horror Picture Show
Titanic
Forrest Gump
Pulp Fiction
Braveheart
Showgirls
(I'm sure there's more, but this is just for starters)
Okay, I know what you are thinking...How could I watch this stuff? I was very bored. Plus a friend of mine likes most of these movies, so I watched them over there.
I will never get those hours back. Waaaaa!:(
Mad Pixie , I know what you mean about talking during a movie that bores you. I do that, too. I also laugh during movies that bore me. Of course he doesn't like the comments I make during them, but I need to make them or I will explode. At least I can make a comedy out of it. Stanley Kubrick's are great for that...:D
I know it's a good movie,Lisap, I just hate it because I was a little kid when I saw it. Another movie I hate is The Man in the Iron Mask. It's a good movie but I don't like it because I saw the movie at my school before I was 13.

I've probably seen other bad movies that I've otherwise stuffed out of my brain right now, but the most recent worst movie I've ever seen was Rugrats in Paris
When Kevin reviews a movie for his Home Theater (http://www.mouseplanet.com/hometheater/) column, he usually runs through it a couple of times-- once to watch it, then a couple of more times to remember details correctly. I was hating life the week he wrote that review....

Let's see, Wild Wild West was pretty bad (as was the song Will Smith wrote to go with it).
I'm with lisap and Ralph Wiggum, Swingers was great.

I'm not normally a big John Waters fan, but the worst film I've ever seen is the John Waters film "Serial Mom", starring Kathleen Turner. The only movie I've ever seen that truly OFFENDED me, it was so bad.

I have to stick up for Swingers myself!!! It truly is so money!!! It doesn't even know it! Jon Favreau is creating "Made" as we speak (he's the guy that did Swingers!)
As for Howard the Duck, I used to have a huge crush on Leah Thompson, so I always like that movie just for that.
I do like a couple of the other "worst films" I've seen on the lists, but that's alright. I don't think certain films are really for everyone. I enjoyed Magnolia for example, but I don't think it's for people that aren't as weird as me.
One really fun thing I do with my roommates is have "Bad movie night" We just seek out the worst, capiests sci-fi, blaxploitation, and horror films we can find. These are movies that could be or are too bad to be presented on Mystery Science Theater. They're horrible! The worst ones I've seen yet would probably be Night of the Scarecrow and Blackenstein. Those made me want to hang myself they were so bad. Most of the movies are bad in a good way and give me a good chuckle. I recommend bad movie night for everyone. It's just too fun and a good way to bond with people.

OH OH OH OH OH-- OK, this totally made me remember a really bad movie. This was actually a made for tv movie, so I don't know if it counts, but it was/is "KISS meets the Phantom of the Park." Think: Scooby Doo plot line, but instead of Scooby and pals, it's KISS, stoned, totally out of it, trying to act, running around Magic Mountain. Oh, it's really bad.
And one of the best times I ever had was when we hosted a group of friends (many of them post to this board, I'll see if any of them reply,) for an evening of dining and watching this movie.
The best part about it was afterwards, we ran the movie again, turned down, with a Disney CD in the background. We didn't do it on purpose, but much like Pink Floyd and the Wizard of Oz, it worked. It was scary how well it worked.
Ok, *that* was a REALLY bad movie, but boy, seeing it with friends really did make for a fun, bonding experience....

Oh, this reminds me of the absolute worst movie I've ever seen. I take back my comment about Wild Wild West (it was bad, but there's worse movies). There's a movie called Rabid Grannies that's the worst. Would be great for a "bad horror movie night"!

That's the problem with the question..there are SO MANY rotten movies out there! Rabid Grannies is right up there though..but then ANYTHING from Troma qualifies!
Okay, there is cheesy and Troma lives right in the toxic cheese wiz dump. But, Troma intends it's films to be3 bad. I like the musical "Cannibal".
Showgirls and Caligula could drive any guy into a monastery.
Night of the Demons - think Prozac on Lithium
Batman and Robin (just hearing Joel Schumacher describing the film is scary)
Boomerang - And you thought Grace Jones couldn't act.
Conan the Destroyer - produced by Delaurentis the Destroyer
Red Sonja - think Showgirls with swords
Ishtar - Ish stinky
The Fortune - depressing during the Depression
Myra Breckenridge - the film that made Rex Reed a household name
102 Dalmations - Disney Film's DCA
At Long Last Love - Burt Reynolds in a musical
These are the ones that come to mind, but let me check out what is on cable later this week.

Hey I own plenty of the Troma films. I'm full of all kind of surprises I suppose! :) When you can't find anything at the videostore that's horrible, it's a nice piece of insurance. Toxic Avenger, Surf Nazis from Hell Must Die!, Tromeo and Juliet. I think you could give exemptions to these movies just because of the low production cost and the intentionally chessy effects and script
I agree, it is easier to forgive a bad film when it costs $200,000 at most. Some films even come off pretty well, like many of the Troma films. I like Six String Samurai and it is pretty cheesy. I find $100,000,000+ films that are barely watchable to be criminal.

Some bad movies are great fun--I'm thinking of Sam Raimi's The Evil Dead, which I own on video.
Curious that in a Worst Movie thread Plan Nine From Outer Space has not been mentioned--I assume at least some of you have seen it, though if you haven't, you'll probably be much happier renting Ed Wood.

Ah... that takes me back...
My first "real" job was at a movie theater in Juneau, AK... only had two screens... and my first day, the two movies playing there were "Late for Dinner" and "Pure Luck". Whew, talk about your bad films!

AK Wolf - Is "Pure Luck" that movie with Danny Glover and Martin Short? That sucked eggs.
Some other stinkers (in no particular order)-
1. Far and Away
2. MI:2
3. Jurrasic Park 2 (Great effects, no story)
4. Batman and Robin
5. Practical Magic
Swingers is so money, it doesn't even now it. I liked Magnolia, but I could see how someone could hate it.
