its about 245 central time and I was wondering if anyone else thinks that Mouseplanet/MousePad is really slow today. I have DSL and every other site I go to just pops in, but here on MP it is really slow. The logo at the top of the page and the banner ad come in then blank for up to a minute for the rest of the page.

Anyone else seeing this today?

My computer is incredably slow so it's always like that for me.

It has been slower today, but right now it seems a little better.

It has been extremely SLOW....I thought it was our system here at work. Nice to know its not.
But, like said earlier, it has seem to be back up to par. Good...I was getting more gray hairs...and cobwebs on my new glasses.

I have Road Runner and this morning the MP site was very slow. I thought it was due to a storm we're having here... Thanks for the 411. We should have this thread under Admin.
:)

This topic should be moved into the Administration area.

Thanks for stating the obvious, Lacrosse Boy. I'll move this over so that some of the techies are more likely to see it.

From the description (the header and ad loaded then hung up for a bit) there was probably a snag with the ad server. Please let us know if it recurs or continues.

OK...I'm officially frustrated. It is so slow right now! I feel like I'm connecting with 23K modem not DSL. I didn't realize how spoiled I've become. Can it be fixed, please?????

We're looking into this issue and we'll let you know what's going on as soon as possible.

The slow down is real.

Unfortunately, the popularity of MousePlanet and MousePad has caused us to significantly exceed our allocated bandwidth. This has been causing some challenges for our hosting company, and it became necessary to put some speed restrictions on the site during the peak usage times. This will generally be in the morning hours on weekdays.

We are looking at alternatives to help resolve the problem.

Can I just say....
ARRGH.
Looks like peak usage time has been extended to between 7:30 am and 9:00pm
:(
I'm no computer expert,
but
can we hire more hamsters to turn the wheels faster or something?

I thought it was just me. Figured someone played with my system when I was out sick. Glad to hear everyone is sharing in the frustration.:D

I am surprised that there isn't an attempt to do somekind of fundraiser to get a server that can handle more. Hmmm, it probably wouldn't work, but it would be better than having to pay a subscription.

If you want to help with money, go to the end of any of Al's updates and click on the amazon link.

No guarantee on how that money will be allocated, however.

I saw that, but didn't that use to be for the Orphange (orangewood?) trip?

No, there was a special account set up at Amazon for that fund. It is not in use any longer.
