In today's peanut butter article (http://www.mouseplanet.com/more/mm050105sl.htm), I'm curious as to why the Big Thunder Country Picnic and Farmer's Market were included. Big Thunder Country Picnic was only open for a few months last summer, and there's been no indication yet (at least that anyone's mentioned) that it'll be back at all, and Farmer's Market has been closed for quite some time now with no sign that it will ever reopen.

Excellent questions!

Both were included in the hope that they would someday reopen. :)

Big Thunder is a great place to eat -- but the food offered makes it a "summer spot": watermelon, cold chicken, etc. (items you either couldn't get or probably wouldn't want to eat any other time of year).

The Farmer's Market was the first place I ate when DCA first opened and I have a soft spot for it. Because of the uniqueness of the sandwich I thought I would let people who weren't familiar with it (since it has been closed for so long) know that PB&J was offered. I hope another DCA restaurant will serve it -- maybe Boudin Bakery can alter it to fit their menu.

Translation: Thanks for the article from a peanut butter fanatic whose mouth is full of peanut butter.

Then I'm surprised it didn't say that in the article. Because if I was just going off the article, I'd expect to be able to go to Frontierland and find the Big Thunder Country Picnic. And I'd expect that if I picked the right day (probably a weekend), I'd be able to go to Farmer's Market as well, and if it wasn't open the day I was there, I'd ask a CM what days it was open, though I'd be surprised that there were no menus posted at the location. Seems a shame that people might be going to DL and DCA looking for locations that haven't been open in a while.

Farmer's Market is still on Disneyland.com as a dining site (that's why I still have hope). I did mention in the piece "if you get lucky enough to go on a day when it is open."

As for BTCP, it was raining the day I went and I thought that was the reason for the closure. But since it is no longer on the Disneyland.com site I will make sure people know that it is a seasonal location and might return this summer.
