kisroo 01-17-2005, 12:41 PM Great idea, brazen wench! (cute name, btw!)
Along the same lines: Sara Lee "Delightful" breads are the same. Very high fiber, low cal. and low fat which equals low points. I can have an egg sammich with 1 egg, 1 veggie sausage, and 1 SL delightful bagels and only rack up 5 pts. 2 for the bagel, 2 for the egg, and 1 for the sausage (Morningstar brand). That brekkie can keep me going until after lunchtime. :)
DisneyDude~Were your ears a burnin' this am??? I went for green tea when I met my girlfriends for early post workout coffee this am! ;)
disney jones 01-17-2005, 01:07 PM DisneyDude~Were your ears a burnin' this am??? I went for green tea when I met my girlfriends for early post workout coffee this am! ;) LOL! no, sleeping soundly! but i just got up (working front end of the week nights), and I am sitting here drinking my Tazo ZEN as i read this, thinking i need to get some oatmeal in me. :)
From your earlier post about Republic of Tea, that sounds like Borders. One thing about ordering tea in a coffee house, if you're a semi-regular, they always you remember you!
another benefit of green tea is that it deosn't stain the teeth as bad. :D
kadiehl 01-17-2005, 01:42 PM I did my weekly WI and lost 1 lb. Anyone else backwards like me~gaining weight in the summer and losing it in the winter???
Nope I do that too...so now I am on my goal to lose the 20 lbs (geesh) that I gained back over the past year that were most gained between June and September.
I am trying to do my 45 minutes of Taebo in the morning, 15 minutes of those hand dumb bells in the morning to work on my arms, and then a half hour of step aerobics at night. I try to break it up so I do not feel so tired and that I do not think Oh I need to do this and that.
The eating things is hard. I could live on bowls of cereal and what not. Giving up my pop will make be lose the weight, but I miss my Coca cola :( So 1lb down and too many more to go. :(
It is a Healthy Choice or Lean Cuisine dinner for tonight for sure though...the hubby is not home and I will treat the kids with pizza but a healthy TV dinner for me.
Like I said, I am having serious Coca Cola and chocolate withdrawals though.
TrekkieDad 01-17-2005, 03:40 PM By now you must be getting tired of hearing all about my bike riding, but today's ride was 40 miles with about 1400' of climbing. That makes it 112 for the three-day weekend and about 200 for the year so far.
Still cold and foggy--mid 40s, and we had only 4 riders today. We started with 6, but two went home--one before we started and the other less than 10 miles out.
Scale says I weigh 165 with 15% BF. Weight seems to have stabilized for now, and I've been really hungry when getting home after the rides. :p
disney jones 01-17-2005, 03:49 PM By now you must be getting tired of hearing all about my bike riding ....no, not yet, not until i get back on my TREK myself and go for a ride .... i'm getting closer and your posts are inspiring me!
TrekkieDad 01-17-2005, 04:04 PM no, not yet, not until i get back on my TREK myself and go for a ride .... i'm getting closer and your posts are inspiring me!
What are you waiting for? The weather's got to be near perfect where you are.
I have three bikes right now: a Serotta Ti for the hills, a Fuji Pro for riding the flats around town, and a Giant NRS Air for mountain biking.
disney jones 01-17-2005, 04:10 PM uuuh, i have no excuse, except 'wishy-washy goals produce wishy-washy results.'
From weather.com just now: Tomorrow: Mainly sunny. High 77F. Winds NE at 5 to 10 mph.
yep, just about perfect!
OK i'll do it! 10 miles tomorrow afternoon before work! :)
(i have a TREK 1000 road bike, rather basic, but very light)
DisneylandForever 01-17-2005, 04:18 PM 17 days into the month, and still no sweets! 2 more weeks! I'm actually getting used to eating fruit as dessert. But damn I miss my chocolate chip cookies...
kisroo 01-17-2005, 07:29 PM Ahem...DF...did you dare mention chocolate cookies in this thread?!?!? Sheesh. Have you been hanging around CC or what?? ;)
No, seriously, good for you on the no sugar thing. I'm impressed.
DisneyDude~we were actually at the local coffee house (I've been there every day this weekend...actually, I'm there a lot ). Here was the exchange with the gal at the counter.
Barista: "16 oz. Americano-no room, right?"
Me: "Um. No. Not today. Can I get a green tea?"
Barista: "Seriously?!?!"
Me: "Uh, yeah."
Barista: :|
Heeheehee. I confused a lot of my coffee pals today. And it's all your fault! ;)
OK~today's food and exercise:
Exercise-1 hour on elliptical while watching Buffy. I'm hopeless, I know. But it keeps me going! :D
Food-Good breakfast (fruit, boiled egg, and GREEN tea). Pria bar for lunch. Roasted chicken, rice and steamed broccoli for dinner.
All in all, a pretty good day.
Hope everyone is doing well! Keep on keepin' on!
Have a great Tuesday!
~kisroo:)
Bill Catherall 01-18-2005, 09:59 AM chocolate chip cookies...
AKA Kryptonite...my biggest weakness. :p
CoasterChickie 01-18-2005, 11:04 AM Ahem...DF...did you dare mention chocolate cookies in this thread?!?!? Sheesh. Have you been hanging around CC or what?? ;)
Have a great Tuesday!
~kisroo:)
We've been hanging out together, but I swear I didn't eat any cookies with him!! :D
It's already 11 am and I haven't eaten yet....I can't decide whether to have breakfast or lunch. Nothing sounds good so I don't think I'm hungry. That's my main problem with any kind of diet is that I lose my appetite after a couple days and then don't want to eat at all even though I know it's unhealthy. Anyone got any good ideas for food today?
disney jones 01-18-2005, 04:54 PM thanks to TrekkieDad's challenge, i made my 10 mile bike ride today - it took an hour, the weather was perfect this afternoon about 78 F, and no breeze. it was the first time i'd been on my bike in about 18 months, so i'm a little sore. i'm just glad it's so flat around where i live.
i'll try to do it again Sunday which is the next time i'll have the opportunity!
DisneylandForever 01-18-2005, 05:10 PM AKA Kryptonite...my biggest weakness. :p
As they are mine! I say chocolate chip cookies the same way Jerry says Newman! Just last night I happened upon the Entenmann's rack at Albertson's. My eyes locked on it and stayed with it (taking my head and neck along for the ride) as I passed by, and I ended up bumping into a display. LOL - 2... more... weeks...

LOL - actually, I have been hanging around with CC lately! But she hasn't been influencing me on dessert just yet. She has been a corruptive influence in other ways, however! She's a wily one.
Sorry for mentioning the cookies, BTW!

Way to go!
When you are ready, you can join our club's Mellow Monday ride that starts in April. It's 12 miles round trip, with a stop at a bake shop in the middle. It's a no drop ride, which means no one gets left behind, no matter how slow they ride.
If that's too mellow, we also have the Wednesday night WAR--23 miles at three speeds: fast, faster, and tire-melting! :~D
kisroo 01-19-2005, 10:24 PM For shame! This was found sinking to the 2nd page!!!! :geek:
I wanted to confess that I had both pretzels AND red licorice for snacks yesterday. Not really that much of a biggie...except I wasn't really hungry. Just bored and a bit stressed.
Did better today, though.
How's everyone doing???
Oh, yeah. And DF~you first say this:
Sorry for mentioning the cookies, BTW!
BUT then, I read this:
Just last night I happened upon the Entenmann's rack at Albertson's.
Do you know how much I love Entenmann's brownie bites?????? You made me envision THESE LITTLE DEVILS!!!! (http://entenmanns.gwbakeries.com/product.cfm/upc/7203001342)
Stop the madness, man!!
:p
Bill Catherall 01-20-2005, 09:43 AM I've been a bad bad boy. The past couple of nights I've been eating sugary bed-time snacks. That's my confession.
And now that a new forum has opened up for these types of threads I'll be moving it over there. To Team MousePlanet (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/forumdisplay.php?f=50)...
The Lovely Mrs. tod 01-20-2005, 02:17 PM Okay, so I finally stayed within points yesterday and today is looking good...except that I'll be in Anaheim tonight and all day tomorrow and lunch is out of my control tomorrow, it's being provided for me.
Water is good, but the exercise isn't coming along...I'm thinking of doing a couple of laps of DTD tonight (I'm at the GCH)...

Good for you for staying within points. There is no better way to exercise than at DL/DTD :D I am so jealous. I can walk around here and look at cows

But, but, but...DisneylandForever started it!!!! (well, truth be told, CC started it.) ;)
I had an ok day~made it up at 5:00 for spin and then the instructor was sick. No class. Did the elliptical and strength training. Then, worked from 7:45-4:30 and 5:30-8:30...I think I logged plenty exercise pts today!
Have a wonderful Friday all! And, HEY! I'm lovin' the new digs! We've got a whole room dedicated to all things healthy. Great idea, Mods!
~kisroo:)
edited to add: I want TLMt's workout~walking around DTD and DLR...not a bad idea! Have fun TLMt!!! Great job staying within pts. and enjoy your time at DL!

LOL! Okay okay, I'm sorry! Oh gosh it just took all of my willpower to not break down. And today my friend and I met at a coffee shop off 19th Ave, and they were out of fruit cups. The only sweets they had were (*deleted for kisroo*)! So as we talked I drank my water and nibbled on, nothing. :(
11... more... days...
disney jones 01-21-2005, 02:23 PM i think i got my supply of fat calories for the month in the last 24 hours. the thread of about sugar-coated roasted almonds had me thinking of those all day yesterday so i whipped up a batch last night. Almonds are the most wonderful, tasty, and healthy nut, but they are also high in fat calories. needless to say, i've been snacking all those constantly since - but at least they're 'good fat', right? ;) .
on the bad news front, i finally had some ice cream this month - (i didn''t mean too, honest!) after school on Fridays, we sometimes stop at Baskin Robbins if Zoë has had a good week for performrnce. I had about $3 + in my pocket, and i thought i had just enough to get kids' scoops for the two girls - i would have too, if it wasn't for the sprinkles we put on Sydney's scoop, but the tab went over, so i had to use my credit card, so that being the case, i joined in the fun and got two scoops myself - cookie dough and chocalate chip. :)
--- fat and happy in arizona
rentayenta 01-22-2005, 12:28 AM I am meeting my Learning Team in the morning at a local coffee house; I am going to give this green tea thing a try.
kisroo- you are just thinspirational getting up at 5:00 to work out!
disney jones 01-22-2005, 10:37 AM yenta, i hope you got the green tea flavored with lemon, or mint, or something - plain isn't very tasty.
i did good this morning - i made the girls waffles, but i stuck to my multi-grain hot cereal. :) .
