View Full Version : Rides that get better at night
I like Splash Mountain at night. Not because of the views outside, but because I can see better inside, with my eyes more adjusted to the dark.

im never in DCA at night, im always at disneyland, but i would think that the maliboomer would be amazing at night, especially if your facing disneyland park. Also TOT is good, btmrr, splash, and matterhorn (got to love it at night).

My 5 year old has always called it Grizzly Rabbits. Dating from when she was little and couldn't quite say Rapids.

I always make this mistake. Not just at DCA, but at anyplace with a water ride. The lines will almost always die down when it gets dark, for obvious reasons, but I still think "Wow, no line" and go on anyway.

I'm just going to have to agree with everyone on all of this. I have to say, though, when I went on Storybookland back in October (after not having been on it in a good ten years or so) I noticed something about the Cinderella's castle part (I gave the CM a hard time about this, but she was still nice about it). Does anyone else think that the large hill leading up to the castle looks like Minas Tirith from The Return of the King? That was the first thing I thought of when I saw it.

Haunted Mansion is best at night. Since there's no light change between the ride and outside, the atmosphere of the ride stays with you longer. :)

Sidebar: You know there's a little known feature they installed inside several attractions at Disneyland Paris. And that's different light settings based on night or day. During the daylight hours the light levels are set slightly higher so that there is little lost visually while your eyes would normally be slowly adjusting to the darker indoor surroundings.
Wisecrack: I think the fireworks are better at night.
