I heard or read (here likely!) that my son can get a button or sticker or the like for his birthday trip and some of the ride CMs will make a birthday fuss over him? Is this true and what do I do to go about it? He'll be 3 on Saturday and we're going Monday (hahaha...well and this Wednesday since our last Wednesday get-together was rained out...this kid is spoiled!). We may make our first jaunt into DCA on Monday, since we'll have just been at DL Wednesday...does that make a difference?
Thanks!

You can get a birthday sticker at City Hall which is just inside the Disneyland Park. As far as castmembers, it tends to vary from castmember to castmember as to whether they will acknowledge that someone has a birthday sticker on his/her outfit. I believe the stickers are one day stickers but you can probably ask at City Hall.

If you go see Pooh in Critter Country, a CM might tell you to go into the store because your child has a phone call. We've had this happen twice. They have a recording of one of the characters wishing your child happy birthday, and they used to also give out a birthday note signed by Pooh. If no one says anything, go into the store and ask the cashier.
Our kids have had CMs and different characters perform for them. Once the Mad Hatter led a crowd in FantasyLand in singing to my daughter. We've had CMs in lines for different rides sing to the kids. And we've had pretty good luck with CMs greeting the kids by name when they see that birthday sticker. Lagniappe (the mime in New Orleans Square) saw my daughter, had her stop, then he ran and got her some necklaces...probably about ten of them.
We've always had really great birthday experiences! Have a blast! :)

I have a birthday page posted (http://www.colddeadfish.net/dlr/dlrbirthdays.html) that you might find useful. Have fun!
My daughter got her phone call from Goofy and absolutley loved it. She came back and told Grandma about it. :)
