Does this still exist?

We used it often in a DL trip in Feb '01, but when we last visited DL (Feb 03) we had no kids with us. Basically, if you have family members who need to stay behind with a child not able to ride something, you could get a "switch pass" so that the remaining adult could wait at the exit, and then walk right onto the ride once the other adult(s) came off to take the kids.

We are headed to DL next week with 4 adults, 4 kids - 2 won't be able to ride a few things due to age/height. We'll have a great time regardness, but was wondering in advance if this really useful service still exists? Thanks!

Kristin

Hey thanks! I was not even aware of this forum - and I am really appreciating all the great tips. We'll be traveling next week to DL for our DD's 1st birthday (along with aunts, uncles and cousins ages 6, 7 and 12!)

Did you get an answer to yoor questiion yet?

i have not heard the phrase "switchpass" but there is the childswap option available on most rides. put simply you tell the CM at the head of the line that you and your spouse want the do baby swap on this attraction and they (the CM) will give you a pass (similar to a fast pass). One of you getrs to ride first (alone unless you happen to be going with a group) then when you get off give the baby to hubby and he gets on with very little wait (just like fastpass) if you have a group with you at least one other person gets to ride with each of you.

Hope that helps, we have used this oftain (even with older kids that far surpass the height requirements-just don't want to go on)

All you have to do is tell the greeting Cast Member what you want to do. And then when you get to where they ask you how many people in your party (usually right before you board), tell that person you are doing the Kid Swap and they will assist you with where you need to go. Each attraction is a little different so have all the adults listen to where they need to be.

Also, just as a reminder - from experience, if your child decides at the beginning that he/she is fine to go on an attraction and then goes through the queue and decides that maybe this isn't a good idea, continue on. Then, bail out before boarding. At Disney World, our granddaughter though Dinosaur was going to be "cool" (she was five). Then she saw a dinosaur skull in the preshow and freaked. When we got to the boarding, I said we had three to ride and two to leave. There's a "chicken exit" at just about every attraction.
