Every time I click on someone's profile, it asks me if I want to add them to my buddy list. What does this do? Does it show you whether that person is online or not?
Also, what does an ignore list do?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance!Buddy lists tell you if they are online. Ignore lists mean that you don't see the text of their posts, but you do see that they posted. We suggest using Ignore lists if there is a Padder you just don't get along with, rather than entering into online spitting matches with them.

Okay, thanks AVP.
So where does your buddy list show up? Basically, how can you tell if people are online or offline?

I'm not an admin, but I'd like to offer some user-to-user help, if I may. :)
So where does your buddy list show up? Both the buddy and ignore lists can be found under your User Control Panel ("User CP"). If you click there then scroll down, on the left hand side you'll see the link for the buddy/ignore lists.
Basically, how can you tell if people are online or offline?I'm not sure how you check for your particular buddies, but for anyone, if you look at one of their posts, in the lower left hand corner of their post, there are 2 icons, one is a dot, the other is a warning sign (triangle with an "!"). The warning is for reporting a post (errors, language, etc) to the mods, and the dot, if green, means that person is online (i.e., on the Pad) at that moment. Note, if you hover your mouse cursor over the icon, a small pop-up should tell you.
Please, mods, correct me if I'm wrong, but that is how I understand things. :D

At the top of any page under Quick Links you can find a link to Open Buddy List. This will open your buddy list in another window. From here you can easily PM a buddy, or even multiple buddies (one PM to more than one recipient).

Way, cool! Didn't know about that one. Thanks Bill! Even tells if the people are on line! :)

This also has the added advantage that it is updated every minute or so, which keeps your session active. That way if you get called away from the computer while reading threads on MP (or if you are taking a while to type up a reply), your new message flags won't be reset on you.

Ahh, thank you Bill that is what I was looking for.
Thanks Corwin, too.

How do I get a list of posters who are ignoring me?
(Will ANYONE see this post?)

I suggest asking everyone not ignoring you to PM you. Then, compare the list of who PMd you to the complete member list. Everyone else is ignoring you.
