What do you think of Space Mountain opening for July 17th? I LOVE IT!!! If you have not read the article over www.miceage.com, do so. Good idea Matt and team!

Note, if you read the article, they are TRYING to open the attraction early (versus November 2005), there is no guarantee that they will be able to get it done......

I have been waiting for this ride to open up for a very long time. My kids have never been on it and I am REALLY looking foward to taking them on it.

I frankly dont think it is possible to get Space Mountain open by July. It seems like they are rushing and I dont like that. I want them to do a good job and open it in November instead of doing a bad job and opening in July.

I agree, I would love to see Space Mountain open in July instead of November, but one of the things that Al mentioned in his article is that they would likely have to have an accelerated testing phase to accomodate an early open. Does anyone know what these testing phases consist of? Will it still be just as safe? I only put it out there because of what has happened recently with BTMRR. If it means CM's don't have as long to train on it, or the safety inspection isn't as meticulous, I can wait until November.

Accelerated testing is likely to make sure that the 14 or however many cars can be on the track at the same time. Training is certainly part of that.

The Miceage article used the words "trying" and "may" and "possible".

It's not a done deal, just something that's being seriously discussed in TDA and in Glendale.

Hopefully if they can't push it up that early they could at least push it up to labor day weekend.

I hope they don't open it until November for completely selfish persoanly reasons :) Space Mt is our favorite ride and once it opens we're simply going to have to go down there. Our passes expire in a week and we're not renewing them until Space Mt opens so that we can focus on paying off our debt until then. Disneyland is a very bad adiction :)
