Thanks!:) We went to the one in the Storyteller's Cafe in the Grand Californian. We had the buffett for two adults and two children and the total was $60 including tip. The food was pretty good, but I generally feel that if I'm paying basically $15 per person for breakfast, it should be very good and I should get about $5 back to boot. However, breakfast in the parks or hotels is going to be more than you will pay at your local IHOP. The place wasn't crowded when we went and so my daughters got a lot of face time with Chip and/or Dale. So they really liked it. disneynut 11-27-2001, 07:31 PM Is the breakfast with Chip and Dale comparable to Goofy's kitchen? The pricing sounds about the same for the breakfast buffet. My kids really enjoy having brunch with all of the different characters. Are there other characters besides Chip and Dale who put in an appearance while you're eating? MammaSilva 11-27-2001, 07:38 PM disneynut....each of the 4 character breakfast are a lot different...Goofys kitchen the characters wander around and make contact at the table.....Miss Minnies is a wonderful 'show' and the characters do wander around but it's the same ones, Minnie Gaston, Belle and Merlin, in the park at the Plaza buffet, it is generally the 100 acre wood crowd and they REALLY make the rounds to see the kids....watch out if the place isn't very crowded the crew there are GREAT about pics and playing and generally giving you what you pay for... a chance for your kids to get up close and personal without a huge crowd pushing and shoving...the StoryTeller it is Chip and Dale and Pluto....that's IT, and they don't come to your table, the "helper" comes around and invites the kids over to the "play area" and they do games and fun stuff once every 30 minutes or so, the characters hang out by the front door and you can walk over and get autographs and all the pics you want but don't expect them to come over to the table and sit down next to your child.... price wise all 4 buffets are about the same, food quality....1st rate....Storytellers...tied....Miss Minnie and Goofys....good but nothing to write home about, and the Plaza is Ok for steam table food, I recommend the omlet...at least it is hot and fresh! disneynut 11-28-2001, 10:20 PM Thanks for the descriptions. We went to Goofy's once and have just continued going there. We're kinda "rut" people-we do the same things over and over again. It'll be nice to try something different. EandCDad 11-29-2001, 07:42 AM IMO the food at Storytellers Cafe (where they have Chip and Dale) is much, much, much, much, much better than Goofy's Kitchen. Just remember though, you are paying (I think) for breakfast what Goofy's charges for Dinner, so it is more expensive. Peruse the buffet at the Storytellers Cafe and then look at the menu because you can also just order off the menu. If you have a kid who just likes pancakes and won't be eating 99% of the buffet stuff, you can just get them that. This is another benefit over Goofy's kitchen. MammaSilva 11-29-2001, 08:43 AM EandCDad, you can do that at the Miss Minnies breakfast as well, and ITA with you on the quality of the food at Storytellers...last summer we bought the food deal (coupons added to our package) and we were sooo tired of the park food but still had ONE breakfast left...we were tempted to just 'waste' it by not using it when we realized it was good at the Storyteller as well as the other 3 and decided since we hadn't eaten there to give it a shot! By far the best meal at the Resort the entire trip :) mad4mky 11-29-2001, 09:10 AM We enjoy Storytellers much more than the other places. I like the atmosphere and menu items better. Their breakfast potatoes are to die for. :D |
