I haven't seen Disney toys in the happy meals in a while. I hope so, I have my heart set on some glasses for the 50th. (Like the ones from WDW's 25th)

Disney and McDonalds signed their 10 year strategic marketing alliance agreement, in 1996.

So there are a couple of years left to go on that contract still. And I'm sure they'll be talking about extending the relationship. Whether or not they come to agreement for the continuation of the alliance, remains to be seen of course.

I read that the Ray Kroc family of McDonalds was disatisfied & unhappy with its long term Disney contract, as the last few Disney films were less then successful. Indeed, McDonalds, "Home on the Range" Talking Cow Patty promotion was ignored by most children.

On the flip side of the other coin, can it be said that McDonalds is pulling their side of the share? Consider their latest product misfires, including the McLean and the McCantelope W/ Cheese.

I submit that they do not.

... the McCantelope W/ Cheese.

The McCantelope was poorly marketed. They should have pushed the fact that you got a Jafar mellon baller with each purchase.

When was this? This is the first I've heard of it.

Consider their latest product misfires, including the McLean I didn't mind the flavor of the McLean - you really didn't notice the seaweed taste all that much when you drenched the thing in ketchup.

Oh yeah, I remember that one. I have the complete set. I had to drive to a billion different McDonald's to collect the dang glasses!

And the funny part of it was that the glasses are square in shape, so when you drink from them, there's always some dribbling.... ;)

If there are glasses for DLR's 50th, I sure hope they're round. :)

Funny, my set is round. Did they offer different glasses in different parts of the country? I was living in Florida at the time, so maybe we got a "special" set?

Gee, I don't know! The set I have is square and there's a glass for each theme park. The pattern is embossed (raised) along with a colored stencil on each side.

Does that sound like your set? If you want, I'll swap my "dribble" set for yours. Heeheehee.

The square set is the Millennium set. The 25th anniversary and 100 YoM were round.

Ah, that explains it! Thanks, Mark, I was getting a headache trying to figure it out.

Still can't drink out of those darned glasses, though....

Madame Alexander. Who would have believed it?

I guess Disney isn't the only company willing to sacrifice quality.

As Tref noted, McDonald's is extremely unsatisfied with recent Disney films and promotions. Maybe they need to accept Michael's reasoning and blame everything on a lack of CGI. CGI Happy Meals, CGI Ronald and the gang, CGI Chicken McNuggets--CGI IS THE ANSWER TO EVERYTHING! LET'S USE CGI TO COMBAT THE TERRORISTS!

Yes. But that might not effect coming to a renewed agreement.

That might just effect the price.
