I was trying to find a particular post by a particular user and knew a certain timeframe in which the post was made, so I went to one of the person's posts and hit the "find other posts by this user" link. It only gave me the last 500 posts. I tried this on a few people, and it seems to max out at 500, which for some people, only goes to earlier this year. I tried to look for different parameters to change but couldn't find anything. The post I'm looking for by this person is from last September/October, so it's not even coming up in the search at all. Any suggestions or am I out of luck? Thanks.

You can change the date range you are searching in. Just choose a date in the past for "Find Posts From" and then change "and Newer" to "and Older."

We have a system setting limiting searches to a maximum of 500 results. Anything above that is discarded. This is done to reduce usage of the system resources. (The searches are pretty processor and memory intensive).

You can always do an advanced search (at this link: http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/search.php?) and set the date range and forum you are looking for.

I was using the advanced search, but I was still hitting the 500 limit because you can't set a specific start and end date for the search.

Maybe you can get a different result if you narrow your search by forum, and have the results post as threads instead of individual posts?
